I know it is a big world out there. There are thousands of newsgroup boards for all kinds of subjects all over the www. When I discovered this board I was a VERY frustrated contributor on another Shoals board which had been reduced to 7 or 8 likeminded, cliqueish posters who took posts personally and did not allow dissention or new ideas. One credit I will give the board is on the whole, the topics pertained to LOCAL issues in the Shoals area. I am not trying to offend anyone BUT in reading down the topic list I see a lot of National issues and even one that says DENVER POST! I have never even been to Denver, read the Denver post and don't see what that is happening in Denver could POSSIBLY affect my life as a citizen of Florence, Al. Now it might, but I doubt it. What I am getting to, in this rambling way of mine, is how about replys and starting things on THIS board which actually affect the day to day lives of what is going on in the SHOALS? I mean, this is THE ONLY forum other than one or two of the ilk I mentioned earlier, where a broad spectrum of Shoals citizens can actually discuss local issues and concerns. THE DOG

MadDog, I remember a few people getting irritated with you about your leaves!!!! First of all, I was not the original poster of Denver. It was an article created by the right wing and I just proved it was a lie and I posted it. It's a local that's being passed around the Shoals. Look, this board is not just for local issues. It's for local, state, and national issues as TimesDaily covers all the news. So, if you don't like what I post, don't read the darn thing. You just don't know how ignorant you look. Thank you. Don't forget to say your prayers.

how can one get on a local forum? That is what I thought this was, but it is not what was I thought I'd find. And thanks to those that told me it used to be mostly local, and that it has only recently changed.

Well when it saaartee, and THAT was only 2 months ago, it was. But in hindsight, I know a lot of the posters here don't LIVE here and only get their info about what is happening from the TD! THAT is why I think it is imperative that those of us in the Shoals who are actually in the know (jcrowder and other contributers on this board who I know (Know the time about he Shoals) keep the gnenral public as well as those who are away from "God's country" (and sorry folks, I use that term in jest) about the issues at the local City Halls and the backroom meetings and deals which affect ALL our lives! That was the reason I started this post. YEAH, Denver, Iraq and the whole big world affects us in a way, but I THOUGHT this was a forum to discuss pressing matters in the Shoals, and that is what I try to do and respond to. THE DOG

Well one more "flavored" water and off to the races ( I hope, or the couch in the den). I amy be ignorant, by the way I don't consider myself to be and if I appear that way to you I don't give a rats ass, but I just noticed that other than trying to take over the board with every topic on CNN and everywhere else in the world, you rarely post LOCAL topics for discussion. (Kindred, I just know I am going to turn into a pillar of Salt, I am tempting fate WAY too much by responding to PBA, especially after I put him on Greyhound!) NUFF SAID; Good Morning (but it is still dark, I think I'll put on some Barry White music down in the den, may make "Missy Dog" more receptive LOL I am going to bed or the couch one way or the other but THE DOG is a LOVE machine! LOL THE DOG!
