To be fair, I am not a steak and potato person. That being said...

All of my friends are always raving at how good Logans Roadhouse is. I have never been to Outback, Texas Roadhouse. I tried Logan's for the first time today.

I got a chopped steak with a nacho appetizer and a nutter butter fudge thing. The food was decent. The rolls (everyone are always raving about) were ok. They were definitely nothing special. They were just overly greasy rolls.

The steak was ok. It was not unlike anything i have had before. I got fries and macaroni with it. The fries were really dry with no seasoning. The mac&cheese was pretty good. Nothing special...

The nachos were surprisingly tasty. The cheese, chips and chili were really flavorful.

The "nutter butter fudge slide" was ok. It was really small. It tasted like frozen peanut butter. Again, nothing special.

Oh, and the free peanuts. Who cares? It's peanuts.

The service was excellent. I mentioned to my waitress it was my first visit. The manager paid me a personal visit and gave me a card for a free appetizer apon a return visit.

The waitress constantly attended to me. Again, excellent service.

but....

Why are places like this so popular and always packed? To me, the food is very bland. Maybe texas and outback are better? I don't see myself going back to Logans.

It is true, most of the food is just so-so. Not bad but not what I would call outstnding but the service is always top notch and the prices are reasonable. Not what I would call a great steakhouse but more of a great general restaurant (does that make sense?). What I mean is that when we go there it seems they have something for everyone.
First of all, if you are just now trying Logans, where have you been? Seems like you don't go out to each much. The selections you choose, seems to be very generic. Maybe you should try Ryans, they will greet you and let you get your own "bland" variety of different foods and also give you a holder to put your teeth in so they will stay fresh.

The last time we were there ( and it will be the last time), it smelled like a dirty diaper, our server had facial piercings, poor service(never got a drink refill and got the order wrong). Nope,JMHO, I won't go back.[/quote]

So you're going to base your entire opinion of a place on ONE bad experience, especially if you'd been there before and hadn't received poor service?!?
