T.D. suggestion, limit five head topics per day, per person, unlimited replies to as many post as one wants to. This was a problem on the Montgomery Advetiser chit-chat, when an unknown person, nick-name Anna, made it boring to look at. Or open up a free for all site like http://www.al.com/forums/ title it Free For All, so they can go back and forth with each other. Just my opinion, and I am not cutting no one down, just making a suggestion, that is all.

I really don't see the problem.Who cares how many post someone makes? If it is something that interests you read it,reply if you want to.If it is something that doesn't interest you just move on and don't bother reading it!

It doesn't matter how much I like or dislike someone,I just can't stand it when all turn against one.I'm on this forum, because I'm stuck at home alot and bored stiff.When I think of PBA, I remember this person that I use to know that was a quadraplegic-he was stuck in his house and only had his computer for company.So, please,before you attack someone try to put yourself in their shoes.I know I've been guilty of the same thing,but I am trying to change.

Nobody here has a debilitating disease or has a child with a debilitating disease. None of us don't know where our next meal is coming from or will suffer through the night with no roof over our heads. None of us live in despair, with no hope of things ever getting better.

See, it's all perspective. When you think about how bad it could be, is a personality clash really worth raising your blood pressure over? Come on now, guys, go on over there & get your t-shirt. Smurph might even put a smiley on the pocket.

Just leave them alone. They obviously like to fight or they would be ignoring or blocking the other's posts. Anyone who does not want to read the rantings and ravings of adults acting like children can also block or ignore. It seems like a no-brainer to me. We all choose who we want to interact with and what we choose to read.

I agree. So many times I have come to the forums and the mental picture I get is kids with their thumbs in their ears, hands waving and tongues sticking out saying "na na na na na"(don't know how they can say that with their tongues sticking out though). "Mom, such and such is teasing me" or "Dad, such and such is making faces at me".

Ya'll better stop this right now or I'm pulling this car over! I would just turn around and smack you but in today's world child services would be on my butt!

I could have chosen a lot of post to respond to: decided this one wraped the whole thing up on one tidy nutshell. I have patiently sit by, as I KNOW many of you have, and slowly watch PBA post hundreds of posts that anyone can see on MSNBC or CNN and see the "talking heads" argue to death. And Bluesman articulated EXACTLY what is bothering me and A LOT of other people on this forum (at least by the PM's I have gotten last night and in the past) that most are SICK of 100 post or more a day on "world events". AS for feeling sorry for PBA, I can't prove it, I am sure the moderator at TD can, but I was on this board at the conception and someone named "shoalslover" came on with the same MO and started posting all the off the wall national topics that had nothing to do with the Shoals. At the time, those of us on here discussed mainly local issues and it became a sore spot because this poster would take what we were talking about and try to give it a national spin. Suddenly this person "disappeared" and reimerged as PBA. Kindred and themax, where are you, back the ol dog up on this! LOL I think I was TRYING to do the group a favor, but if you want the board clogged with AP reports, I'll quit. As someone else said, just don't open them and I haven't in a long time. It was just that last night when I was watching NBC news and they had the tornado on it and then I look at the board and here is a "newsflash" from PBA i just lost it. PBA is on my blessed ignore list (as I know he she or it is on a lot of others) so I will let this Walter Cronkite or Diane Sawyer wannabe post on! THE DOG

Well I have replied to PBA to no avail. He/She will not change my mind and I am certain I will not change theirs. PBA is probably an Islamist immigrant from the madrassas in Pakistan just trying to stir things up here at home. At the very least PBA is a tacit supporter of the enemy. Either you are with us or against us. How I wish that phrase still stood all the way to the top. Everyone has a right to their on views in this country but I don't have to agree with them. I do not like liberals who think America is the problem in the world. In fact, we are the one beacon of hope that is left in the world. I have been to over 25 countries in 20 years in the Army and there are none better than the United States of America.

YankeeWitch... I know a LOT of people like that!!! And some retired people that love getting on the Internet to pass the time... I AGREE!!!

But I also (dont take this wrong PBA, please) think that there should be a limit as to how many posts per day is put up by any ONE person... now hear me out, ...

I have seen FAR TOO MANY posts go up, when one had to only scroll the page, or go to the second page and WA-La, there was ALREADY one going on!!! So why another??? Both require the SAME answer, and BOTH are the same...

Another site that I am a member of had to do a 'restriction' because if they didn't then things would fall off front page so fast it was unreal, NOT to come back either.... and some of those things were VERY VERY important posts!!!

Limiting postings is just a courteous way of handling a Forum of any type. And if anyone has an idea or a link, then they can look 2-3 or even 4 pages back and RESSURECT the old posts on the SAME subject matter... I would like it much better that way, then I wouldn't have to keep on repeating my 'stance' on certain subjects...

Okay... now that is my 2 cents... do I get change? hehe Razzer

Okay... ANOTHER way to look at this point here is that if I scroll down the first, second, third, and fourth (maybe more) and just wrote ALREADY POSTED as a reply.. just how many do you think would te RESSURECTED just by that one little comment???

Boatloads, that is for sure... And if anyone had TIME to go back about 15 pages and do the SAME Thing, we would ALL be surprised at how many ABSOLUTELY GREAT discussions were killed due to another "like for like" post created.

I really think it would help a lot of things here if AM or AP from Times Daily read about the limiting, and double-postings!!!!!

I guess I haven't gotten down far enough in the posts to see what brought this one on in the first place yet, lol...

OMG! I feel like I am watching a Florence City Council Meeting on Comcast!!!! please, all you that have nothing better to do everyday than post to forums and sit and wait and watch for someone to reply -- GET A JOB AT WALMART AS A GREETER OR SOMETHING. oh, wait, ya'll don't like Wal-mart -- better yet, go to the Veterans Park and try and figure out what needs to go there -- oh, yea, it needs to be left alone. Then go fight in the war that Bush got us in and it's all his fault -- oh, yea, I forgot the Democrats are coming in and saving the day. So write a letter telling a soldier thank you for fighting for your 1st amendment rights -- oh wait, this war is not about that -- no war has been about that in years according to you.

I flip through randomly during the day and I get so sick of clicking a post and reading such biased opinions and then what is hilarious is all of you that have these biased opinions -- can't seem to get along.

I beleive most all of us are adults -- it doesn't matter whose side you are on -- how many posts you post -- who's "gang" you are in -- this is a DISCUSSION FORUM -- whether you post 1 time in a year or 10,000 times per day -- that is what a forum is for -- whether it is the same topic 10 times or one topic replied too 10,000 times. If you start limiting posts then you are starting to censor the forum and isn't that what most of you left the ohter forum you were posting on for so long and came to the TD -- because they don't delete your posts etc.????

If I want to read it -- I open -- it is a choice I as an adult make -- If I don't -- that is my choice. I don't particularly care to read most of the stuff PBA posts, but then again, I don't particuarly care for certain others either -- but I don't have to like it -- that is a wonderful thing about being an AMerican -- I am Free!

Thank you to the soldiers who have served, given their time and/or life--to the ones serving now and the ones that will serve in the future. Freedom isn't free -- and while ya'll are on here fighting about who gets to post X times per day--there are more important things to be discussing on this forum and coming up with real ideas for change to correct the mistakes that have been made.

I am guessing you are more of a "reader" than a poster or a replier?

And YOUR opinion that it does not matter is wrong, it DOES matter. If someone posts ONE discussion post that people are activly discussing, then someone comes on and posts ten thousand of the same... then the discussion is hijacked, and no one is discussing anymore... and this is a DISCUSSION forum so why Censor it YOUR way instead of the way that would WORK?

Why is YOUR way right and everyone else's WRONG???

Contrary to your belief, there has been some truely GREAT discussions going on and then WHAM, they are gone into other pages to be replaced by information months old. Is that right? Maybe it is by some's standards, but not by the ones I have talked to.

And Yes, of course we all have choices on what to read and reply to, you do, I do, everyone does... No one is trying to take that choice away from anyone... but might I remind you that this forum belongs to Times Daily, it is a PRIVATE forum and any rule they put into place cannot be called censorship, they make the rules, we abide by them, it is real simple.

No one, not even you can accuse Times Daily of censorship UNLESS you are the OWNER of the site. Site owners get to make the rules, and if anyone cannot or does not want to comply then they just don't have to be here.

All of it is real simple.. Big Grin

Hey,MADDOG, I think you are right on target. I mostly just don't bother to read anything start by PBA because I know it going to be of no intrest to me. You keep barking my friend.
