He's lucky he didn't his head snipped off.

Khaled A. Shabani was issued a ticket on Wednesday for disorderly conduct, a county ordinance violation that is not a criminal charge. He has pleaded not guilty to the ticket.

A State Street hair stylist allegedly snipped a customer’s ear on purpose during a botched haircut before the holidays.

A 22-year-old man went to Ruby’s Salon, 627 State St., on Friday to get the sides of his head shaved and an inch cut

Stylist Khaled A. Shabani, 46, began to twist the customer’s ear after telling the man he was fidgeting and moving his head, DeSpain said.

Then, Shabani snipped the man’s ear with a scissors.

“While it is not a crime to give someone a bad haircut, you will get arrested for intentionally snipping their ear with a scissors,” DeSpain said.

With the shortest possible attachment, the clipper was run down the middle of the customer’s head by Shabani, “leaving him looking a bit like Larry from the ‘Three Stooges,’” DeSpain said.

The customer got up and left to have his head completely shaved by another stylist before going home for Christmas.

Shabani, who says the snip was an accident, was arrested on a tentative charge of mayhem and disorderly conduct while armed, DeSpain said.

[Editor's note: This story has been updated to reflect the fact that Khaled A. Shabani was cited with a county ordinance violation and has not been charged criminally.]

Desperation met stupidity on the corner of bad luck and despair, and the democratic party was born.
