So I was recently looking at some TV articles regarding the analog to digital transition back in 2009 and that caused me to look at the history of the TV Bands themselves. I was surprised to see in this current reality the UHF Band was originally 14 to 83 as I am sure this was not the case.

I remember my family used to have 1 of those retro Television sets with knobs for dials (and we may still have this television set in storage) and it had a VHF Knob and a few smaller UHF Knobs. I watched TV on this set several times and I remember its lowest channel was 2 (on VHF) and its highest channel was 88 (on UHF) I am 100% sure 88 was the highest UHF channel on it, not 83. If you wanted me to I could name you off every channel I remember watching on this set, and just like I could tell you those I remember the highest channel on this set was 88 not 83.

I am not arguing that the highest UHF channel later was 69, and then 51, and soon will be 36. I am not arguing any of that, I am only arguing that the original highest UHF channel used to be 88 not 83. I remember thinking it was cool how the highest UHF channel was 2 of the same number.
