Marine Corps Birthday Today

HOORAH!!! My best friend gave 4 to the Corps. I enlisted 2 days after my 18th birthday in 1991 into the Marine Corps delayed entry program, but the lovely people in personnel in Memphis at MEPS "lost" my contract. I got a call the day before I was supposed to ship out that told me I had received a general discharge under honorable conditions because of the "mistake." I eventually got over that and enlisted in the Navy 10 years later. Basic training at 28 was a breeze. None of that scared little boy stuff, except from most of the other guys who stepped off the bus at Great Lakes. The hardest part of boot camp was parade rest at graduation (Pass In Review). Once again, HOORAH!!! SEMPER FIDELIS!!!
