It is still a great nation, Skippy.  Just look back at the last national election and remember the wise choice this nation made as it selected its President.  Instead of an elitist Mormon poseur who disdains almost half of Americans, characterizing "47%" of the electorate as parasites and leeches, we have a President who fully understands the frustration felt by hard-working citizens as they see the ever-widening gap between the ultra-rich and the middle and lower economic classes. Instead of a devotee of the atheistic  Ayn Rand, who eschewed Christian care for the poor and overtly promoted an economic gospel of selfishness, we have a Vice President who is in tune with needs of the working men and women who wonder why their incomes have been flat or worse for a decade or more while the compensation of under-taxed hedge fund managers and corporate CEOs have swollen out of all proportion to their contributions to the economy.. For so long as sensible American voters make such wise choices, this great nation will persevere in its greatness.

Problem is Contendah,

They didn’t read the bill before they passed it. How could we expect them to?

More fun to come.

What is this about a "bill," Skippy? There is nothing in the string about any "bill"  prior to your mentioning just above.  I wrote nothing at all relative to any "bill.". Are you working on your master's degree in irrelevancy?

Contendah,

Simply binging Biden's quotes leaves one either shaking one's head, or laughing at such amusing lack of understanding.  Add, that Obama now has a handler accompany Biden on trips to ensure he doesn't complete embarrass the nation.  His quotes in the last visit to the UK and Europe, alone, were classics of mind googling ":he really said that?"

Speaking from a Christian point of view, many Christians (and Jews) believe God has blessed our Nation out of our Nation's historical respect for God as creator, Supreme Deity, etc.  Others believe (of those that are Jewish/Christian) that our nation's blessings have come as the result of our support and favorable attitude and actions toward Israel/God's Chosen People extrapolated from or fulfillment of God's promise to Abraham in Genesis 12:3.

Genesis 12:1-3 (HCSB)
1 The Lord said to Abram: Go out from your land, your relatives, and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.
2  I will make you into a great nation, I will bless you, I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.
3  I will bless those who bless you, I will curse those who treat you with contempt, and all the peoples on earth will be blessed through you.

Of those, who believe either of the above or a combination of the two or even additional theories, believe that we, America/United States, are in danger of losing God's Blessings due to what we, as a Government and people, are doing and the decisions we are making.  I sense that thought from your opening post in this thread as well and do not disagree.

There is also an interesting observation, that many make, at least in terms of those that study  Eschatology,  that there is no real dominate or dogmatic mention of the United States or America in Revelation or the End Days/Times.  The ONLY incidence that is cited to refute that and say that America is mentioned is Revelation 12:13-14 with the woman being the Nation of Israel and the Eagle's wings being symbolic of American protection what with the Bald Eagle being the symbol of the United States.

Revelation 12:13-14 (CEV)
13  When the dragon realized that it had been thrown down to the earth, it tried to make trouble for the woman who had given birth to a son.
14  But the woman was given two wings like those of a huge eagle, so that she could fly into the desert. There she would escape from the snake and be taken care of for a time, two times, and half a time.

Others believe there would be definite mention of, or alluding to, America or the United States in Revelation with regard to the End Days if America was a major player which, if our Nation was as it is today, it should or surely would be.  So, based upon that absence of direct mention or alluding to the US, many say something will happen to America, as we know it, before the End Days arrive that will render us ineffective on the World's occurrences.  Then others hold no such views but I mention it just to add to the conversation.
