It is a terrible drug and I wish it could just go away. I have witnessed several lives ruined because of it. I hate it and what it has done to the country as a whole. Just the list of ingredients it is composed of should be enough to prevent anyone from ever wanting to do it. But, look at the history books at how bad wildcat whiskey used to do people when it was the drug of choice, and was made in the illegal ways when prohibition was in effect.

Unclegus, I said that a Majority of people that tried Meth for the first time got hooked and can't get out of it, Not every single person, but a Big Majority do
Donna, I didn't intend on disagreeing with you. My point is the only way many people quit meth is only after they reached rock bottom and has lost everything. I've seen people loose their spouse and family. I've seen people loose their home. I've seen people loose their job. I've seen people wind up in prison because of it. As long as they are still doing it, they care less about what all they loose. When everything is gone and they are still alive, it is time to start from the beginning with everything.
I see it everyday. Where i live, I'm almost certain there is a dealer. Cars come in, stay 5 minutes and leave. You can tell when a new batch is made,... the traffic level is up. And when they are out, little to no traffic. There are people of all ages, races that stop by. But, what saddens me, there are alot with Florence High School stickers on their cars. Just yesterday two carloads of high school kids came by for about 5 minutes. I live upstairs and have seen the deals being made. From what ive been told, i dont really need to worry about the dealer. Its the users that are the most dangerous. Here is a pic of a tiny ziplock bag i found in the parking lot.....

I wonder if there are any support groups for those affected by meth. Suppose someone wants to stop abusing meth, where could they go to find that help. I personally think there needs to be some real focus on helping these folks. Meth is ripping apart familys all over North Alabama. How can we stop this destruction? I just want to reach out somehow and help. But the problem is so big.
Original Bama,

You should report what you found!!!!

You have evidence of drug deals taking place! They can probably even DNA the little baggie. (I'm not a cop, though, so I don't know 100%).

And is it possible that the dealers are producing meth and maybe also selling other drugs as well like pot or even pills? A one-stop shop of sorts? I imagine a drug dealer is not picky in HOW they make money and probably sells anything and everything.

I would imagine pot or pills would be more "mainstream" and appealing to dump high school kids looking for a cheap thrill. So maybe that explains the high school kids. I pray they really aren't trying meth. I hope they wouldn't be buying pot or pills either, but everyone makes stupid mistakes. But meth is in a whole different realm. It's HIGHLY addictive as others pointed out, even from the first use. Pot or pills can take a while...
(I'm not promoting one for the other. But pointing out how BAD meth REALLY IS! It scares me!)

What ever happened to the good old days of sneaking a can of High Life and thinking you were cool, only to find out from friends in college and as a young adult what a light weight you really were? I guess I'm old-fashioned....

You need to contact Crime Stoppers asap. If it is in Lauderdale Co. Contact the Drug Task Force.
ahanback....you are so right. I want to help as well, but where do we start??? A few weeks ago, I spoke with a lawyer (I have a 2 yr old cousin that tested positive for meth....imagine someone doing that to a child, but I was speaking to the lawyer about filing for custody of the child)...anyways she said that if the parents were on anything other than METH, there might possible be a chance for them. She said she has had many cases like this that involved METH....she's only had ONE where the father got the child back. The only way he got the child back was because his parents locked him in their house for 6 months without letting him out. He came clean after that. So it looks like to me that maybe a jail sentence would be the only thing that would help....and that's only if the person really wanted off the drug and didn't decide to start using again once they got out. Try this link. http://www.na.org/

This is the web site for NA (Narcotics Anonymous). They are a great help to any who need it. There are local chapters meeting several times a day, every day. (AA meetings are also held several times a day, every day for any who need it.) If anyone needs help getting off meth, give them a call. I'm sure there are other local organizations such as Riverbend with information to help those in need.

OriginalBama: Report them. If not, you may come home to find there is nothing left of your place and property someday. You definitely don't need them as neighbors.

CALL THE DRUG TASK FORCE AND TELL THEM IMMEDIATELY!

DONT LET PEOPLE GET AWAY WITH THAT CRAP!! AND DONT TOUCH THOSE BAGS!!!

I'm not sure you even realize that even being AROUND anywhere near that stuff is VERY VERY VERY harmful to you.

Lauderdale County Sheriff 760-5757.

Oh, I know Unclegus, I know that you were not trying to start a disagreement. I am beyond that now, except for maybe one person, and I think everybody knows who that is.. Lol, I didn't think a thing about it Unclegus.
