I am going to visit some friends in Athens this weekend. I am wondering what is a good mexican restaurant to eat at in Athens? I have heard good things about Casa Blanca(sp) that is on 72.

Maria Bonitas on the north side of the square !!!!!!!!!
I've eaten at Casa Blanca's on 72, best mexican food I've ever had. Cool atmosphere too.

Maria Bonitas is probably the best Mexican place I have ever eaten. The food is fantastic. The atmosphere is amazing, and the prices are very affordable.

I had Casa Blanca’s for lunch last week, based on a friend’s recommendation. I was not impressed. The cheese dip was thin and watery. I had one of the dishes with chicken and it was bland at best. The service was poor. It’s not on my preferred places to visit again.
I lived in Athens up until about 5 years ago. I was underwhelmed with Casa Blanca. I never understood why it was so popular - but it was.
Well, thanks for the info guys. We ended up going yesterday afternoon. We ended up at Casa Blanca, the food was DECENT, nothing special. As yall said, the cheese dip was wattered down. My taco salad was also fairly cold. The ice cream and chips were excellent though. I'm definitly going to ty maria bonita next weekend up there.
