Ok , you read it right and hopefully partly wrong. This house had a couple of mice earlier and they have been caught.

Last night my dog Tippy found another one.

How do you prevent mice from entering your house? I haven't found where they come in yet.

I prefer not to poison then with the fear if Tippy ate one (I know gross) it might or will make her sick. Not only my dog , it might a neighbor's pet too.

hound, longrider supply sells a mouse poison called 'assault' that does not have a secondary kill (ie does not harm a dog that eats a mouse that has eaten the poison.)

i was afraid of poisons, too, but got it on good authority that a man i know who LOVES his little dog and would never do anything to harm her has used several boxes of assault with no problems.

the poison comes in little packs you throw out and let the mice carry off or eat out of. you have to put the packs somewhere the dogs can't get them, of course.

i have used most of a box of this stuff and have had no problems. and believe me, it kills the mice.

i also am an advocate of old fashioned neck snapping traps. gets it over with, anyway. and you don't have to contend with the smell of dead mouse you can't get to, under the kitchen cabinets or whatever.

Yep, take them little rats outside and let them loose next to the house of the neighbor that gets on your nerves.

I, for one, will 'break it's neck!'

I used to have problems with mice and bugs. I bought some of those ultra sonic devices that plugs into the electrical outlets and haven't had a problem since.

Schnauzer, we got one of those once and the bugs and mice weren't bothered one bit by it...but it drove me nuts! I was the only one in the house who could hear it! Big Grin

The mice just need 1/4 inch opening to get in. That sealing foam is great to keep them out.

And then what? LOL!

You make him a nice dinner and keep him as a pet! LMAO
Four cats that we shift their feeding places from the garage to the houses to the barn, plus three Jack Russels. No mice problem for the people -- seen a lot of dead ones, but not sign one of a live one in over 2 years since we built the house.

My poor old poisoned beautiful English hound was the champ. Someone poisoned and killed 4 of our hunters 1.5 years ago. He was going to get to run this winter, too. I had guys lined up for him. Poor old Bruno. I miss that bray so much.
Yeah, that's part of my tremendous "fear", their filth. If I see one or evidence of one on an object that can't be boiled or thrown away, I feel absolutely diseased. They're sneaky and nasty. They defecate more than any other creature I've ever known of... In 7 years, there have been 2 mice in my house, and both times, I was ready to move and let them have it.
