"Stars and Stripes" newspaper has completed a survey of thousands of troops serving in Iraq, slight over a third of the respondents say their morale is low. An Earlier survey, an official US Army survey reported that more than half of the troops reported unit morale was low.

The "Stars and Stripes" survey included Air Force and Marine respondents, and clearly found higher morale in the ranks of the Air Force, though the survey method had to be altered to meet Official Air Force Requirements. http://stripes.com/webpages.asp?id=52

Having been there for 2 tours I understand the Morale thing. Its mostly politics, Support back home that is so detrimental to morale. Its not being able to kill your enemy because there is some crazy policy that says don't touch that guy or that group. You can't interrogate, you can't do anything. Either we are in to win at all cost or lets be done with it. Mainstream America just don't realize whats at stake.
