This is a remarkable and heartwarming story! It seems that the rescue team missed nothing in their preparation for not only the rescue but the problems that the miners might face because of their time "underground". I am glad to hear that each miner's "rescue" will be shielded from the media. It's amazing that the foreman made a 48-Hour supply of rations last the 17 days before life sustaining items were dropped down to them. I pray for a successful recovery of these miners who have been through something that I hope none of us can imagine!
So happy this is going so well. The US Mining Industry should take notes at the extremes the leaders down below and Chile et al above have gone through to make sure all come out alive. They all need better safety places for them to go with working safety equipment available etc...All of the mining industries and jobs of that nature -- better step up and make the jobs safer for the employees and stop cutting corners and risking lives. It is truly a great event in Chile and I hope this continues....and affects us all ina major way...
I cried last night when the 1st one came up. All of it is "heartwarming." The men themselves, the families, the country, the rescue workers, the engineers, all of them. That is real team work !!
And I find it interesting the "experts" are sitting around telling what the men will need when there has never been an experience like this before for anyone, let alone the "experts"... in my opinion the men themselves are the experts and we need to take our lead from them.
