Miss Annie's Update 9/4/08

I lived in St. Joe as a child. Being in my 60's, Miss Annie's has been a draw to me for a very long time. Always talked about in a whisper back then. Good to know that landmark is still going strong.

Open and as good as ever! We ate there last night. Michael said there was still lots to finish, but he got enough done so he could be open. He has been there day and night for 2 months.

Glad to see Miss Annie's Rustic Park back open! It has been greatly missed!

We've been waiting on the new Miss Annie's to open for months......big steak here I come!

She will stay at home, but I might have a little left over to take home to her in a doggy bag!! If the steaks are as good as they use to be, I doubt I will have any leftovers!!

Where's it located & what are the hours? What is Rustic Park?

Miss Annie's is located on Highway 43 in St. Joseph,Tn about 1 mile north of the state line. They are opening at 5 p.m. Before they closed for the road construction, they had the best steaks, beer-battered chicken fingers, and grilled catfish around.

Ate there this weekend. Its as good as it was before it closed and the building looks great. Give it a try.

Ate there this past Sunday. Best smoked chicken around. The service was great and the building looks awesome!!! I foresee lots of road trips

Is Miss Annie's a bar atmosphere or do they serve families too?

UnderContract, Miss Annie's is a family restaurant. It does have a bar area which is actually the original section of the old building that was moved. Through the years Rustic park has served many different venue's. I remember as a kid, my father would take me there, you could eat food inside but beer was only served through the walk up window to the outside. I remember when I was of age, it was primarily a bar with bands playing at night on the inside.
When Micheal and Darlene bought it, they really vamped up the kitchen area and was open for mainly food service with the option to drink beer. I used to go there a lot on Saturdays for lunch and watch a game or race.
Miss Annie's rustic park is the oldest continuously licensed beer garden in Tennessee.

If you can judge by the cars in the parking lot, the place must be fabulous. Thanks Unclegus. I just wanted to make sure the place was kid friendly before I took mine. They'll be happy to hear chicken fingers are on the menu.

We went last night for my birthday dinner. The food was delicious as it was before they closed. The service wasn't great though. We got there and got our drinks and salads quickly. Then it was about 45 minutes to an hour after we got our salads that we finally got our meal. That was my only complaint. If they get the kitchen staff up to speed it will be wonderful!! The place looks great!! We went outside on the back patio area where they have the stage for the band and drank our beers. I'm glad it's back!!

We went on Friday night and everything was great. The wait for a table was about 40 minutes though because of the crowd. Our food was delivered in a very timely manner but at least one of the tables near us took a bit longer. I think it was due to the 7:00 on Friday night rush. I'm sure once things calm down to normal it will be more efficient.

Hats off "cuz" for making this a great place to eat....again!
