OK, folks here is anw one for you to try.
Momma Jean's is open in the old Grassland Nursery building on Hiway 20. It is just east of the intersection of 133 and hiway 20.
Fancy it is not. It is clean and roomy with plenty of seating and wait staff. They are serving the same home cooked food that started with Bread Basket in Cherokee years ago. Jean supervises and cooks everything there. The vegetables are seasoned and served right away. Very little wait time. We were there at the end of lunch time, about 12:45, probably 35 or more people there and we had our food in less than 10 minutes. Tea glasses kept full as we ate. The menu is not italian, french, cajun, or anything other than plain ole "SOUTHERN". Most of the desserts are homemade as well. They are only open Monday-Friday from 6:AM til 8:PM. Try it when you get a chance. If you liked Garden Gate; you will love this place. No fancy dress is required; only an appetite for some down home cooking!

RBH91--It sounds as if you did not go to the "Momma Jeans" that I went to. My food was delicious and very "homemade"; prices were very low; very clean and roomy environs; and the "empty tea glass" that you suffered? I really don't see how that happened because their tea glasses are probably quart-sized and I was also asked frequently if everything was OK. Before someone is turned off by your bad review, I hope mine reflects quite the opposite experience and the readers will at least make one visit! (The chocolate cobbler is my favorite)........

We went to Momma Jeans (at the former Grassland Nursery location) based on the reviews we read about it in this forum. I simply stated the facts regarding our experience. You are right about the size of their drinks, but hubby did finish his and wanted more!
