US attorneys are appointed to four year terms. Clinton Appointed new US attorneys when he was innagurated. That is SOP.

Bush is firing US Attorneys he appointed, and who were confirmed by the Senate. THE REPLACEMENTS ARE INTERIM APPOINTMENTS. The issue is why them and why now. The response that Bush Can Fire them on a Whim is CORRECT. The fact that he fires people on Whim is evidence that he demands loyalty before respect for the law.
