This is so true..he has ruined so many talented players athletic careers by not so much as making a phone call or give a recommendation to colleges...That is unless you are one of the privledged few who Hallman had to take care of..He is an absolute pathetic coach as far as decision making, strategy , and helping to get the best for his athletes..Good riddance..maybe some other school will take a flyer on him because of his name...

RICH players play poorly. Poorer players sit on the sidelines but they play "RICHLY".

Just my opinion, so no jumping, lol.

Exactly that about sums it up!!!!lol
Doesn't Swindle have a boy playing ball? He's not going to bring him to MSC. He wants to put him on a team that will win championships so he will be considered by the larger schools. (Though it sounded like a knock on MSHS, it wasn't meant to be.) Kevin Rose will make a strong push and have a lot of local support. It hasn't been enough in the past though. I will say this, Kevin would do an excellent job. He is a better candidate that the last two head coaches at MSHS.
I have to add, Rush Probst does not mince words. Though Hallman was "stern" with the players, he hurt too many feelings. Probst doesn't care about feelings. He doesn't care if your son plays or not. He wants to win too, so he will play the best kid. Muscle Shoals isn't known for putting up with coaches that don't "cater" more to certain moms and dads. The idea of having Rush Probst coach the team at Muscle Shoals is much more appealing than actually having Rush Probst coach the team at Muscle Shoals. If your feelings get hurt cause you don't play enough, do we think Probst is going to care if momma or daddy calls the board of education or Dr. Wooten?

Probst won't fit. Extend the invitation to Rose.
After all the crap that he got himself into in Hoover, Rush is not what I would consider a person I would want coaching my kid in anything. However, there are enough rabid MS fans that they could care less about who is coaching as long as they can be like Hoover (dream on.)

I would like to see Kevin Rose get the job. Good guy and a good coach.

Couldn't agree more.As long as there ae rich kids playing football at Muscle Shoals ,they as well as there moms and dads will be catered to ..even if they are least talented..Like I have said on plenty of occassions MSH had more talent on the bench than on the feild especially in 2006..

Sorry, I just had to pop in here and see what the fuss was about. Ya'll have PARENTS call the SCHOOL BOARD because their precious little angel didn't get enough time on the field / court / track / diamond? Are you kidding me?

I think the folks at MSHS need to worry more about the team as a whole. As Coach Brannon used to say out in Greenhill when I was in school: "The is no I in TEAM".

Oh yea it happens and the parents of certain privy kids don't have to complain to the coach it is a given..Now I don't know about the other sports but in Football that was firsthand knowledge and it was obvious when you saw the talent Hallman was putting on the field as opposed to the talent he kept on the bench..2006 Hallman had the most talented group of players he ever had a MSH but he blew it with this favoritism crap...

Sometimes, TSC, I think you live in a cave, on a deserted island, in the middle of the Bering Sea. Happens ALL the time. Doesn't have anything to do with pocketbooks, though, just those that think their precious is deserving, whether they have talent or not.
Believe me, this poor player/rich player thing isn't at all new. It's been that way at MSHS since I attended and I graduated in 1983. I had a boyfriend who was a star quarterback at his previous high school (which was 3x larger than MSHS). His father's job moved them from there to Muscle Shoals and the coach at the time REFUSED to give him any playing time because the incumbent quarterback (who was not nearly as good) was the son of a prominent Muscle Shoals business man and a HUGE school booster.

But then, MSHS has been that way about EVERYTHING since it was founded. The kids from the rich/influential families in Muscle Shoals have always gotten preferential treatment, in sports or anything else. The so-called service clubs which were in place were nothing more than popularity contests. Who ever heard of having to be voted into a service club? If they were true to their charter, it should be the more the merrier. Sadly, that's always been the culture at MSHS and probably always will be since the "golden children" from my time are now the parents of the current "golden children".
