I preface this with a dream... I dreamt this Iron Bowl within 2 points of the final score. In a terrible nightmare about 2 weeks ago I dreamt that bammie won 34-0. The dream was so telling that I was screaming the same thing in the dream that I was in the 3rd quarter of the game... "WE'RE JUST *expletive deleted* GIVIN IT TO THE MUTHR *expletive deleted*s NOW!!!!" LOL. I told 2 people of this dream the next day so that if it came true my psycic abilities would be proven.... now to the game....
If on Friday, God would've shown me the game all the way up to bammie's first drive of the second half, to the play that JPW threw the out route to julia jones....I wouldve seen Jerraud Powers make a great break....Then God froze the tape and asked..."Would you take this if I told the this is exactly how the game would go Saturday?"... I would have emphatically answered "HELL YEAH!!!!" Auburn down 10 pts, about to get a pick six, or a pick and a nice return, or even if he picks it a falls down. We got momentum, we had moved the ball at the end of the half and can build on that to make this a game....but then the tape rolled and.... dropped.... droppppppeeeeddd... WTF!!!??? All-SEC Jerraud Powers, who by the by, SHUT DOWN julia in this game, missed played the ball and inexplicably jumped....and droped it.
But, all was not lost. The D held, bammie punted, Auburn had a few positive plays... then, fumble. Not a caused fumble, no massive hit, no strip...hell, nobody even blew in lester's ear... just laid it on the ground. bammie scores after the quick turn, with great field position. That punt turned into a 45 yard pass for bammie.
Soooo... The Tigers get the ball, move it a little bit again.... then, fumbled snap... WTF? Not a caused fumble, no massive hit, no strip... hell, nobody even blew in Burn's ear... just laid it on the ground. Once again, quick turn w great field position, TD. At this point the game was over....name your score over. Coulda been 70-0 or 22-20... didnt matter, Auburn found a way to take THEMSELVES out of the game. The rest of the game was completely irrelevant thanks to the wonders of Auburn's uncanny ability this season to kill themselves as they did in the 3rd quarter.
Now, I take nothing from bammie. They were EXACTLY what I said they were. They have a very good run blocking O-line, and because of this were very likely to win the game even if Auburn doesn't commit suicide. But this game was "The Perfect Storm", if you will, of this season for Auburn and Alabama.
Multiple times this year Alabama has benefited from their opponents making huge unforced errors, and multiple times this year Auburn has helped their opponents by committing huge unforced errors... but that's how one team is 12-0 and the other is 5-7.
