Biffer...

I believe in America they have to be convicted first before a label can be placed on them... All I know for now is they were ARRESTED AND CHARGED with a crime....
Their trials have not come up yet that I am aware of such an official conviction is not yet assure.
Each case will have its own merit...

With that said, I am glad the Florence Park and Rec decided to take action on such activities in the public parks...I hope TVA decides to do the same...

Very true!..... just goes to show you,,, people are just too quick to pass their judgements!.... thanx Trader for a sane comment.......
As I understand it, a large majority of these men are married with children and only three admitted that they were actually "gay". After looking at these pictures it is also clear that this is a generational thing. I pass no judgement on these men, but I must say that in this day and time there are safer and far less public ways to locate sex partners. Get a room. I also must point out that women endure agressive men making lurid and suggestive gestures and blatant sexual passes on a regular basis. I had a man expose himself to me in the parking lot of Western super-market in Birmingham once and endured countless sexual advances by clients and co-workers (mostly physicians) during my 25 year career in HHS. This is not a "gay thing", this is a MAN thing.
I think all women who are approached inapproiately by men should call the cops too. For years all we do is say this simple word: "NO". The fact is that this is NOTHING compared to what women must endure.

Link

As of 2002, of the 1,561 forcible rapes reported to law enforcement, only 43 percent were cleared by arrest. There were 4.3 rapes reported every day in Alabama.

The average age of a victim in this state is 21.9 years. The majority of rape victims (55 percent) were white, 41 percent were African American, and 4 percent were of unknown or other races.

On a national level, one in six women reported an attempted or completed rape at some point in their life. As of 2001, there were 84,000 reported rapes, 63,000 reported attempted rapes, and 102,000 reported sexual assaults.

This means that in 2001, there were 248,000 rape/sexual assault victims....

The vast majority are not same sex assaults. Most of these crimes are committed by straight men on women. You guys who are so offended by some middle aged or elderly married man making a pass at you need to put things in perspective.

Thank you! This was my first thought when I heard about this bust. I have been putting up with this crap since adolescence, but now that a few straight men have gotten catcalled, it's a social problem warranting a police task force? Maybe I'll start taking pictures of the men who proposition me, make lewd comments about my body, or grunt when I walk by and posting them on the internet for everyone to comment on. Those of you who are so freaked out by the gays looking for some lovin' should be more concerned about who your husbands are harassing (because I assure you, the majority of this crap I hear comes from men wearing wedding bands) or who is harassing your wives and daughters. I agree that butt secks in the park is not appropriate, but I am having trouble feeling sympathy for straight men who are getting ogled by gay men, because I put up with that crap every. day.

Just because we as women have dealt with this chit all our lives dont make it right . I dont blame the straight men for fussing about it . If a woman comes on to you ,shows you her breast , ask you for oral sex ,at the park ,then would you fuss ? Would it be different to you then book reader ?
There are plenty of web sites for the gay to look for lovin .
I beg to differ with you. I spoke with a friend of mine who puts his boat in at McFarland marinia sometimes.
Approaching with comments is FAR from what has been going on. Like my friend told me, sitting out in that boat one can see MANY things that go on in that park and simple conversation ain't the top activitiy either. He and his fishing buddies have reported what they have seen going on numerous times.
So its a far cry from being a woman, walking thru somewhere and have to hear some dumbA. man make an obscene comment versus possibly having your kids in the park risking walking up on some of those "activities"! Also how many times have we had women raped in our local parks? I am sick to death of wide range statistics and numbers. People have got to get their minds on THEIR area, cleaning up their own parks, walking trails,THEN we can worry about what is happening in the next state. I honestly think if people WOULD BEGIN to worry about their own home towns,we would begin to see declines on the "bigger picture",covering those huge numbers we get to see when checking stats.

No one said ANYONE has to put up with it. But it happens to women at a much higher rate. Men have asked me for all kinds of sex over the years. Believe me, it was offensive every time. Still, I did not flip out. It is not rape. It is offensive.

That is true, unfortunately most of these men were married with kids and at an age where computer skills may not exist or home computers are monitored or non-existant.

Rationalization. The stats I cited are in Alabama. I have seen straight couples having sex in public places, in boats in plain sight, in cars, and, yes, in parks. Just because you don't like the sex these guys are having does not make it different than any other lewd act committed in a public place.
I don't disagree that people having sex in public is wrong. Having done it myself, however, I don't think these people are any more deviant than I am. I know we are supposed to "think of the children!" but is this stuff really going on in broad daylight when children are there? If so, yes, that is a problem. My point, however, is that I found the responses to the threads on this subject interesting. Quite a few male posters said things like, "I'm glad they're doing something about this problem. One time a man looked at me while I was jogging on the TVA trail! I felt so violated!" Meanwhile, women put up with the same crap daily and no one thinks twice about it.
You never know. We had first hand knowledge of a deacon in a local Baptist church that molested a child for years. Nobody would believe he did it but there is proof. I have long since decided that I will never be able to be a good character witness because I believe with all my heart that anyone is capable of anything, given the right (or wrong)circumstances, and I cannot say under oath that I don't believe a person would do something.

Kinda like this fellow dont look like he's ready to eat somebody . You never know . Wink
I was recently at the TVA Park running my dogs when I went over to the top of the hill where there are picnic tables and a shelter. Sitting at one of the tables was a white male who was holding his favorite toy I am sure...He looked at me and stated, I hope I am not embarassing you...and smiled.
I looked at his toy that he was stroking like he was trying to get it to lay down, and stated..." With That? I am afraid not...it got him so flustered he got up and ran to his car.

Personally, I don't care what they do in private but their activity at public parks is a step over the line and every attempt needs to be made to put a stop to it...
You're a woman snake? LOL had me fooled a long time.. should have known as.. well never mind Big Grin

Several years ago there was a flasher operating at interstate highway rest stops. The Highway Patrol operated a sting, using a couple of female troopers in plain clothes to nail these perverts. One of the ladies, interviewed in the newspaper, said that the perpetrator signalled her to come over to his car and when she did, he exposed himself, asking, "Hey, ya know what THIS is?" Her reply was perfect. She said, "Well, it looks like a penis, only smaller."

Reminded me of something I heard a while back...

A blonde's car breaks down on the Interstate one day. So, she eases it over onto the shoulder of the road.
She carefully steps out of the car and opens the trunk.
Out jump two men in trench coats who walk to the rear of the vehicle where they stand facing oncoming traffic and begin opening their coats and exposing their nude bodies to approaching drivers.
Not surprisingly, one of the worst pileups in history of this highway occurs.
It's not very long before a police car shows up.
The cop, clearly enraged, runs toward the blonde of the disabled vehicle yelling, "What the hell is going on here?"
"My car broke down," says the lady, calmly.
"Well, what are these perverts doing here by the road?!" asks the cop.
"Those are my emergency flashers!" she replied.

Bad, huh?

When I was a little girl, maybe 9, an old man made REALLY crude gestures at me at the post office one day.

He gave me the whole "tongue-through-a-V" gesture. It's kind of hard to describe that, but it is SOOOOOO RUDE! And to a child!

I may have been pretty as a child, but I was 9. That is disgusting.

I have also had similar incidents happen to me and my friends as we've gotten older. One man licked my face at a community festival (think HandyFest). My husband was there so I was lucky. He stopped it real quick. But what if I were alone? Or with a group of girls? Does that make me fair game?

Maybe all of these jerks are finally getting what they deserve....the attention they have been trying to get for the last 23 years of my life.

At the very least, whether you have a 8_> or a (_V_), please don't catcall, oggle, LICK, rub on, whistle at, grope, hug, kiss, or give elevator eyes to a complete and total stranger.

It is so rude. And it makes you look like a complete and utter pervert, which is definitely not someone that a respectable person would want to sleep with, marry, or take home to Mom.....
