In none of the photos I have seen has Miss Holloway been dressed inappropriately. In fact, her wardrobe looks quite modest for a beach vacation. No one in her right mind would describe her as "half-naked" or flashing her "privates."

beeb, you must not have kept up with the case very well. Now tell us how many young ladies lay on a bar and allows her top to be raised for young men to have "belly shots" that you know? This subject was discussed many times by numerous of the media sources when the case was fresh.

vick, i agree with you what woman gets into a car with 3,,,not just 1,but 3 strange men here at home in the US ,much less in a foreign country!
And exactly what kind of friends were those she was with that would ALLOW her to ride off with 3 strange men, even if she had been sober much less intoxicated. I say much of the blame for whatever happened to Natalee rides on the shoulders of her so-called friends.
I can't believe how ridiculous some of you are. There is no one to blame but those who committed this crime. In the photos I've seen, she was dressed in appropriate attire for the season and place. Tank tops and shorts are fine apparel for the beach. Miss Holloway did make bad decisions. Who hasn't made bad decisions when they were a teen? Very few of us--no one is perfect. As far as the jelly shots go, Joran claimed that Natalee did that and she may have. Again, not a good decision, but not worth a death sentence. I don't believe a word that comes out of that kid's mouth. He is a liar at the very least. Vick and NYTrooper you scare me.
Unfortunately, none of us know what our children might do when they are not with us.We were teenagers once, and we didn't exactly act like angels ourselves. Most people don't find out their children even drink alcohol until something bad happens like a car accident. Most people don't find out their children are having sex until one ends up pregnant.I say these things because people are shocked that Natalie was at a bar or drinking. The alcohol may have clouded her judgement, as well as that of her friends. Her behavior at the bar has nothing to do with the sick and twisted mind of another individual. She was enjoying her senior trip never knowing she would never see her family again.Natalie can't be blamed for her death. They were all drinking and partying.Natalie payed the ultimate price.People should stop trying to find out why she's gone and find out who the person is that's responsible for her disappearance.
well its also sad,AND scary there are adults who excuse away behaviors that indeed may have contributed to whatever the end results were for Natalee. None of the other kids climbed into a car with 3 strange men and they returned accounted for safe at home to their families.
Its not a safe world we live in today, not even at home, much less in another country.
The whys play a very large part in finding out WHAT and WHO was involved in her disappearence.
Its a message board, people ramble their opinions, and anyone who is offended by those opinions do not have to read them.
I believe that every one of them climbed into cars with strange men. They're called "taxis," and many of them are unmarked. There is EVERY reason to believe that Natalee Holloway THOUGHT she was getting into a taxi and returning to her hotel, as the entire group was doing at closing time.

Vick, if you were referring to me earlier, you couldn't be more wrong; you've got the whole mother-daughter thing (as so much else in your thinking) exactly backwards. Looks like I got out of NJ just in time; clearly it has warped your perspective.
ALL teenagers have done things that their parents do not know about. It does not matter if they attend a private, city, or county school. It does not matter if the kid is a nerd, the most popular, or a friend to all. It also makes no difference if the parents think that their child "tells them everything". THEY DON'T! No teenager is perfect! We've all been there. The bottom line is that all parents can do is raise their children with good morals (and punish them when needed...and I don't mean just taking a cell phone away from them...Heck, we didn't even HAVE cell phones to get taken from us) and pray that they make the right decisions.

From everything that I've seen, Natalee was on the right track. Yes, she may have made a bad decision, but I believe that she acted no different than any other teenager would on a trip to Aruba. The last person to see her alive, obviously that would be VanDerSloot, since he has pretty much admitted that, is the ONLY person that should have ANY blame on them.
As a former teacher, I can tell you that your children act differently when you're not around [I know that's not a surprise to most of you] Kids dont think of the consequences of their actions, and they are totally convinced that they will live forever.....sit down sometime and write out the things you did as a teenager..
