I thought the same thing as all of the above posters.  I mean, wasn't it last week that Mike Goens was touting mysterious contracts that would supposedly "save" the railcar plant?  I also noticed it was Bernie Delinski who reported this story.  Goens isn't much of a journalist in my opinion but he would make one hell of a male cheerleader!

All the failures of the news division at the Times Daily still doesn't damper the great news that this company is coming to the Shoals.

A lot of people don't like him, but something always told me Bronner wouldn't let this fail if for nothing else than to save face.  He doesn't seem like a guy who will accept failure.  Bravo Bronner!

It was "secretive" because Navistar didn't want the competition to know what it was up to.  This si standard business practice.

And, by the way, this is the biggest, best news to EVER hit this area.  Combine that with the quarter billion dollar hospital and the Shoals is a powerhouse of job creation.  That ain't nuthin but good!

The railcar plant was also the biggest best news to ever hit our area also..... I'm just sayin'.

Hopefully it works out though.

The chinese company actually did not end up buying the Hummer brand from GM, sounds like there was some governmental red tape that wasn't cleared on the chinese side. Hummer right now just kind of faded into nothing, no one bought it and they aren't producing hummers anymore. The military hummer, the HUMVEE is still produced by AM General but the US military is looking to replace it with a truck on steriods called the MRAP. Navistar among others makes MRAPs, it sounds as if they are the leading manufacturing as of right now. That would be wonderful if they manufactured military vehicles at the railcar plant. Goverment contracts = financial stability and security.

Here is navistars lineup of military vehicles. http://www.navistar.com/portal...CM10000085d0eb0aRCRD
