I'm new to the forum and not really adapt to all the things you can do on here...

Pm the roofing addic, he can take care of you and do a good job, He is honest and can take care of any problem you may have.

Definitely PM the Roofing Addict -- he can help you or at least put you in the right directions...

Heads up though -- a lot of roofers are several months out depending on the size, pitch etc of your roof and the shingles you want installed...don't expect someone out next week that is for sure...

Roofing Addict did some work for me and I was completely satisfied. He did exactly what he said and did good work.

I can't tell you who to use, however, I had a bad experience with Atlas. They had to come back four times to repair a leak around my dormers and still didn't get it right. I had to go through the BBB to get them to come out the last time. I finally fixed it myself and have had no leaks since. I have no experience with roofing so it makes me wonder why I could fix it and they couldn't.

Hey Bama.....I was just joking around with Gus there this morning...I sure didnt mean any harm with that quote...He and I have been discussing the heat for some time back and forth...I didnt know that I would touch off a nerve in pawsplace...Have no idea why he/she would say something in that manner. I dont think we have ever had a conversation...I really dont understand...But...to answer a question...Yes...I am in the Roofing business...have been for 22 years...have a 8 man crew...same crew for 7 years now....and Dixie can tell you...thats un heard of...Now if this is a new roof....I do not do new homes...With my insurence I can not bid against the average roofer...but...Residental tear off...and replace...thats not a problem...if your interested or need references....I will gladly furnish....or....if your not confortable with someone on here...I can recommend you someone who I think Will do you a good job....Please remember...I was just aggervating gus...thats all....he is a great guy and can handle a joke alone with the heat....Thanks....The Roofer....

I knew it would not take long for ATLAS to come up in the DON'T CALL column. I know someone who used to work for those folks, not the most honest set of people......& some of them split to form North Alabama Roofing, so be a little cautious there too.

Panic -- you hit on the very point that Roofing Addict tied up about when he first came to the forums...be careful with roofers because "a roofer is a roofer" was my opinion too, but I have found that RA is not "every roofer"...but that goes with all construction. If the company doesn't have good references -- and a good track record both good and then fixing the bad -- then keep looking. There are good ones out there...

Hey everyone....Thanks for the compliments...Dixie...you got a soft place for letting people know what too look for...and the only way to get that is to have been taken advantage of before...unfourtanally....I am sure this has happened...so high 5 to ya for letting everyone know what to look for...But..this post is just to let you know...I did get out to Bama's home as promised Friday morning...Gave the estimate....and figured out why no one else was interested in the job...Bama has a nice home....Nice neighborhood....Clean yard...you can tell they take care of their home...But...it has 2 layers of roofing that has to be removed and as hot as it is right now...no one wants to touch it....it just doubles everything...So...the Roofers they called...might have went by....but seen the double layer...and kept on going...as for me...The tougher it is...the better I like it....So...it didnt bother me...I know that if I get to do the job....Getting both of those layers off that home and putting a new roof on it will make a difference...and that looks good on me....and the surrounding homes...May turn into more than one job in that neighborhood...So...I am going to keep my fingers crossed and proceed with my daily activities....Have a great weekend all...I think I will head down to the camper...a little cooler today.....see yall....The Roofer....

i have said it 1 time before and i will say it again there is a roofer name JOHN GLIDDEN do not let him roof for u i wish someone had told me before i payed for a job not well done at all
