I liked Dr. Stoddard on Cox Creek across from Mars Hill. My daughter and I continued to see Jamie for our dental care even when we lived in Atlanta. He (and his dad) has a great staff, we always got our visits scheduled promptly, and the hygienists were very gentle and they won't try to sell you $100 toothbrushes and stuff!

If you are in Madison then I recommend Drs. Porch and Yokely on University Blvd just passed Kohl's. They are great, too!
I'm not sure about the waiting list for new patients (or if there is a waiting list) but IMHO the best dentist in town is Dr. Mclanahan. His office is located right off of Helton Drive right up by OBGYN and the Bone and Joint Clinic.

I've been going there for years and I've been nothing but satisfied. He and his staff do a wonderful job.
I'm sure all of the dentists mentioned are good. I, however, would highly recommend Dr. Frank Wall on Cleveland/Pine Street. He is very in tune with his patients. I used to have to be premedicated with anti-nausea medication before my trips to the dentist because of my gag reflex. When I had a job that I was unable to work after taking the medication because of the side effect of drowsiness, he would meet me on Saturdays to personally clean my teeth. I couldn't ask for more as far as customer service goes. Also and more importantly, his is the only dentist office that I have not thrown up in because of his attention to my problem and I no longer have to take medication prior to my visits because he and his staff have been so careful with me.
