Because the dollar was worth so little? And you blame that on Bush alone? Did you even pay attention to past administrations. An administration is not only judged by what it does when in office, but the legacy it leaves behind. Clinton reduced the national debt, but how?
Ohh, lets see, we dont need those 100 tanks over there, we're not at war, we only need 25, so as the tanks break down, lets scavage the parts off of them to keep at least 25 running. That way, the defense spending will look good on paper. But what happens when we go to war and need tanks? Ohh, the president in charge when that happens can take care of that. (Trust me, I was in the service under Clinton, what a joke.) Then, when the troops arent prepared for war because they dont have the supplies (tanks, etc) they need, who do we blame? BUSH! When he has to spend like crazy to retrain the military and prepare them for operations readiness, who do we blame? BUSH! Imagine that, Clintons cutbacks fell on Bush's shoulders. Hummmm.
Also, which president was it that said everyone deserves a home of their own? CLINTON. So Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae began their loan programs that eventually led to the housing bubble and the collapse of the housing market (undeniably helping with the economic dive we are currently pulling out of). Everyone does not deserve a home (those that work for it and can afford it do), but this entitlement program artificially inflated the housing market. Another entitlement program (enacted by Clinton) at its best. And I have heard Clinton, in an interview, state that it may be the biggest regret of his administration. But BUSH gets all the blame for the weak dollar. Hummm......
Obama will be judged by his administration as well, just wait. Another democratic president pushing entitlement programs on the masses. Status Quo I guess......
