From what I read in the Times Daily the new Ag Center and complex has procured all the land they need and are ready to start breaking ground in the construction of the multi-million dollar property that is supposed to also hold a new technical school (or was at one time to replace Allen Thornton) and also have some retail development such as restaurants or the like.   From the drawings though I can't see the training school shown so I don't know if that part is still in the plans but there are articles that keep referring to an educational component to the project so time will tell and we will see.

I've also noticed that work seems to have stagnated on the property adjacent to Newburn's Catfish restaurant that was supposed to contain a bank and other businesses including a possible restaurant or two.  So many possibilities and yet none are seeming to come to be factual.  I hope that they do start clearing land soon but I also hope that they create something that will enhance and improve the area and possibly draw more interest in from outside industry.  Florence has the potential to grow but I don't know if we have the political folks in place that are capable of getting that growth in here.
