Hoping that there will be some reviews about the new Cloverdale Road Greek Restaurant that opened where the former Chinese (Hong Kong) Buffet was at.  This is in the same strip mall that has Fiesta Mexicana and is located adjacent to Kendrick Spirits and the Primo's Pizza place.

I'm particularly interested to see how people like their Pasta/Spaghetti.  I think it's very good but at the time I was there there was such an overwhelming presence of a fragrance dispenser it made me wonder what aroma or smell they were trying to hide or conceal.  The particular fragrance that I am speaking of is the Santi-air type which apparently was set very close to where I was.

Other than that their specials look good and their menu is also very good looking and prices are also fair.  I hope they do good but I also hope that next time the overwhelming sense of Santi-air is gone and the aroma of the Greek foods are much more prevalent.

Lets see if others have the same experience or what they think of the place.

I ate there yesterday, we had a few different things; hummus, stuffed grape leaves, spanikopita (a savory spinach pie), chicken kabobs, lamb gyro, pastichio (similar to a lasagna/baked pasta sort of dish).  Everything was excellent, but the prices are a little high.

I don't recall seeing any alcohol on the menu, but I didn't look for it specifically so I can't say for sure

I was told by a third party, for what that's worth, that the reason they had to close was that the owner was selling alcoholic beverages or drinks without a license and were closed for that reason.  I don't know if that's true or because they just didn't do the business that they needed.   I was told though that it would close within the week and that was Sunday a week ago.

Looks like third party info was right, at least about closing ... don't know about the cause though.

We went there for dinner last night. I HIGHLY recommend the lamb gyro plate...  I have NEVER had better lamb than I had there last night.  Even better than the last time I had it.  The Greek pasta (pastichio) is pretty good, as is the moussaka, but the gyro is insanely good.  I have only had the lamb, which as I said I highly recommend, but they have chicken and pork gyros as well.  Their hummus is extremely good as is their spannikopita
