In the old Shoney's building that has had a Chinese restaurant last and that is located on Florence Blvd across from the old Pizza Hut and Arby's and adjacent to Popeyes I said was going a new Fiesta Mexicana.   It was said that the Fiesta Mexicana restaurant that was having to move due to the new Gym coming in was going to move to that location.   I don't know if this place is actually Fiesta Mexicana except with a different name or a totally different Mexican restaurant but it looks like it's coming soon.  Burrito' Loko is the name but I don't know when it's scheduled to open it's doors to the public.  I just noticed the new signage as I waited for the traffic light to turn for my direction.

Same owner, but not Fiesta.   This is going to be more like a Chipotle or Blue Coast.   The other Fiesta is relocating to out near Bellemeade where there was one years ago, kind of across from Florence Fire.

I wondered what was going into that building.  Thanks for that info.  It'll be interesting though to see how the new Burrito Loko goes over.  I love the concept but with all the troubles Chipotle has had I have a problem trusting them.  Love Blue Coast ( and Moe's) though.  I believe Moe's has a place in UNA's food court but wish they were not so exclusive here in Florence.  Would say Moe's should go into the old place by Blue Coast but two restaurants with the same concept that close in proximity just wouldn't make it.  At least one wouldn't make it.

Back now to Burrito Loko.  As I said I hope it goes over but I fear that the old Shoneys Building and last Chinese restaurant may jinx them.  Sometimes when one restaurant fails or doesn't make it the building seems to be a jinx.  Sorta like the old Famous Daves and Crocodile Ed's (actually loved both of them).  Sometimes people are just reluctant and prejudge a place based on the building they occupy.

I enjoy the concept as well. I wouldn’t worry about the ptevious place. I don’t think Peking failed. It was there 20 years or more. It only closed because the owners moved or so I’ve been told

I hope you are right, about the reason they closed, but I still think Peking did better business in the place they were in before they moved to the old Shoney's building.  Then again I may be just imagining that, I do that at times.
