NEW potatoes

I believe it's called Rick's Produce which is located on the side of the road on Wilson Dam Road in Muscle Shoals. He always has some of the very best and freshest produce around this area and it's always reasonably priced too. I got some early potatoes from him a few weeks ago and as soon as I got them home, boiled them up with some crab boil and added real butter and sour cream to them for a treat. They were fantastic!

You can also try Malone's Produce in Tuscumbia -- on Hook St. (I believe) behind Spring Park going towards Sparky's Drive-In. They have wonderful produce and some of the most beautiful plants/flowers.

"Born" is the fun term I used derived from the song "Born in the USA". Thank you for the information. I will note I made a "B" in botany at Indiana University which is no mean feat! I also grew up on a farm! There are plenty of new potatoes at the farmer's market in Sheffield. The seller and I also "took care" of Ron Sparks while I was there!

One of the definitions for "bear" in Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary is to "to produce as yield". Another is "to produce fruit" so i was not as cute as I thought I was! LOL! BTW, I know that a potato is a tuber. Fruit is a term used as that which is produced!

Got some small "new potatoes" in Amish Country few days ago. Cooked them on top of green beans using chicken broth as liquid. Absolutely unbelievably delicious. Saw a basket of new potatoes at Rick's produce stand the other day. Went back the next day and they were all gone. Someone must have really been hungry for them.

They are for sale at the Farmer's Market, Town Plaza, The vendor said he had plenty and would have plenty. They were also at Rick's today.

We will be digging red potatoes Monday will have them at the market this week
