I hate the new reply button. It has caused me to lose at least two good posts thus far but perhaps it's just me.

I don't want to make it appear that I am on a one man crusade to revert the reply feature back to MY liking. After all, this is your forum, too, So here is you chance to let the TD staff know what you think about it.

I have lost posts and I cannot go back a page to review something. If I do, I lose everything.
Its great if it does not end up at the bottom of a page which sends it to a blank page, or if I want to make a one line reply to the post immediately above mine.
Perhaps they are trying to get us to make shorter posts? Eeker
Hi all,

The "Reply" at the bottom of the page is not bad; however, the "Reply With Quotes" is very inconvenient now.

I most often write my post in my Netscape Composition window, which allows me to view the writing better and allows spell check -- then I copy/paste it into the "Reply With Quotes" window.

In doing that, I would often refer back to the post to which I am responding and often to other posts -- while writing my post. I could always switch between the "Reply With Quotes" window and the other posts.

Now, the "Reply With Quotes" window does not allow one to switch back. You have to close that window or just go ahead and post without looking back for references. If there were a way to not have the "Reply With Quotes" window take over the full screen and hog it -- that would be much better.

Just my thoughts.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

I've done that too.

Also, I use the copy function(highlight and Atl C) for longer posts.

Spelling? You could use IE Spell(it's free).

IE Spell

And there are several other free spell checkers.

I liked it at first, then changed my mind....
Use to, if a thread had several pages and i wanted to quote and reply to a post on an early page , but read the rest of the thread before before posting my reply, it was simple to hit quote, minimize the reply winow, then finish reading the thread.
Can't do that now. Now, if you see something you want to reply to, but want to read all the thread first, you have to remember what page the post you want to reply to is on, read the thread, then backtrack...
Whoops.

See? No one knows what I was saying "exactly" to. It was someone on the last page, though. You'll just have to trust me on that because IT'S TOO MUCH OF A PAIN IN THE BUTT to go back and copy then manually type "[ quote ]" then paste then manually type "[ / quote ]" so y'all could see who I was agreeing with.
UPDATE!

I just wanted to update my forum friends on the status of the new reply feature: It still sucks tremendously!

You would probably never know that some of you missed yet another brilliant and witty reply from Yours Truly all because I accidentally hit the "previous page" button. Lost the whole thing, I did!

How sucky is THAT?
