A Wal Mart shopping center is being built behind/beside Jimmy's, on 72, just past County Line Road, if you're going east.  Despite where it is, it's actually NOT in Madison.  Near County Line Rd (dividing line to Limestone County) and surrounded by Madison, Huntsville annexed that land into the HSV city limits - tax $$.  You should see a map of Huntsville/Madison city limits.  HSV goes along 565 to Decatur, through Madison.

It is so congested at the WalMart on Madison Blvd it makes sense to put one at the North end of County Line Road. There are hundreds of houses being built on CL Road. Smart planning. Several box stores are all along CL Road. The same smart planning that puts a WalMart on Cloverdale Rd. in Florence. You just can’t keep expanding residential areas to the west and force them to all go to one spot in town to shop out in the mall area. Now there’s a traffic problem. The new WM  will take some of the pressure off Cox Crk. Pkwy near the mall. All the property along Cloverdale Rd will skyrocket. I think you will see a Lowes there soon.

I have to ask what kind of bar is it? The word was blanked out. You can PM me the answer if you don't want to say or you can post the word with spaces in between. I'm just curious. Sorry.

Are you trolling?

That new WM near County Line road is actually just east a bit on 72.  The only big store/shopping center on County Line Rd right now is the Publix.

Surely Florence can't support 2 Lowes...  It seems the retail and grocery market in Florence is so saturated that something has to close for something to open.  I hate to see another Wal Mart open, but perhaps I'm biased as I worked at the Florence store for 6+yrs.

County Line Road has many shopping centers, traffic is NOT congested anywhere in front of any of the Walmarts. There is a new center just up 72 from where the walmart will be, with a Target and other stores in it. Traffic flows smoothly all over, even with road construction. There have been hundreds of houses off County Line Road for years, churches, a school, restaurants, fire dept and all sorts of other businesses line it on both sides and have for a long while with NO traffic tie ups.

Ok, I stand corrected.. County Line Road has more than one shopping center, but I meant only one with a 'big box' or large anchor store, the Publix.  Well, actually, the only other shopping center has a few small stores including Paradise Donuts.  Well, there's the other small retail strip with a Subway and a massage place.

Jimmie's attempted to open a Jimmies' II in Littleville and was denied a license. Residents at that time stated it would force the good girls to go wrong. Who knew?

When I was in school in Huntsville and traveling during daytime hours, Jimmie's was always open and had customers. It was also noted for several wrecks that occurred as customers left the parking lot.

It burned at the old location, he wanted it down a bit further when he rebuilt, by county line road, but it didn't work out. That building is now a bar/grill. Not aware of any outstanding number of wrecks in front of jimmys.

I seem to remember it burning now..  I think I was in college then.  Where 'exactly' was that and is any of that building still there and the bar/grill you mention?  For some reason, I was thinking the one that burned was in Littleville.

I live fairly close.  I've passed the Half Time, but never been in.  Thanks for the info.
