Almost right Smiler

OptiNet owns all 3 buildings, and will have a small office in the largest one. We've owned the property for a little over a week, and have made significant progress on the two small buildings, hoping to have them open in early May. The office building will take us a bit longer, but hoping to have it set by June 1. As of today, all the old stuff in the largest of the three buildings has been removed. We will be proceeding with the planning/permitting for reconstruction ASAP.

Updates as they happen Smiler

BTW, we are local folks, no chains...
As noted above, the two small buildings will be a sandwich shop specializing in Philly Cheesesteaks (and about 7 other varieties), and a frozen yogurt shop offering six to eight different flavors of yogurt, along with approximately 50 toppings that you can choose to add.

The larger building will house offices for OptiNet and another local company. We'll share completely what will be located there as soon as all agreements/arrangements are finalized.

To address the parking/access situation....right now it's tough, when you have up to 20 work vehicles, trailers, and roll-off dumpsters located there.

We also own a lot behind these buildings, accessed off of Martin Street that is slated for use as parking. There is a fairly large parking lot that will be initially used in front of the office building for the two food establishments.

We'll try to keep you posted as best we can. Long hours, construction, equipment purchases/installation are taking up a great deal of time now. Hoping for an early-mid May opening.

We want to make sure it is done right the first time, so that we don't have to scramble and re-do anything causing delays and inconveniences once open.
The BAM interest in Yogurt Mountain was announced about three weeks after our decision to go forward at 7 points. I believe they have a "minority stake", not sure how that plays into overall operations decisions for them (if at all). Its something that we'll definitely keep our eye on.

Our two places should compliment each other well, and that should help some.

Still dealing with some equipment delivery issues, hoping to pave and paint in the next week to ten days.
I love Philly Steak Sandwiches and usually go to Lenny's to get mine but I've wondered where the best are in town. I hope the new place does good and I'll look to try out both the Sandwich shop and the Yogurt shop.

I miss TCBY and hate they went out. Seems like when the TCBY was located in the old building that was torn down when Home Depot was built did a good business and that it went down when they moved. Glad to hear new businesses are coming to the area.
Sounds good! I'm glad to see all the new food places coming into Florence as well...restaurants by local owners are great and I hope the success continues. Hopefully the equipment issues will all be resolved soon. I'm sure that can be a pain. Hopefully you got a good deal on some used machines without having to break the bank for new one's. What kind of sandwiches will you serve? A big variety or specialty? Making myself hungry typing about it.
We're almost there..

Remainder of equipment delivers on Wednesday, the sign is installed for Frostbite Frozen Treats. The parking lot is newly paved, and will be striped this weekend. Additional parking will be available behind Frostbite at ShoalsWEB and OptiNet, with an additional lot planned for early June.
OK folks, we opened yesterday at Frostbite for a test run with employees and nearly everything in place. We learned a lot, had a bunch of fun, and met a ton of great people from around the community.

We are officially open today (Saturday May 29). Stop by and try some excellent frozen yogurt and goodies. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we'll be able to use the deck all day. We will be open from 11am until 10pm, or until people quit coming through the door.

The sandwich shop is coming in another week or two.
Hey, Two Thumbs up, or is that just hey I love it. Made it to the shop today and not only was it super nice on the inside and out we ate on the patio and it was very relaxing. As for the Yogurt it was very tasty and the ability to load up yours any way you like .. well lets just say there will be no complaining about how it's fixed because you do all the fixing.

Thanks for a very nice establishment OptiNet I hope your ventures pay off and do good because it's well needed in the area.
Thanks for the kind comments and great review on the yogurt and toppings!!

Stop by and see us, we're open every day from 11AM till 10PM. Grab your favorite flavors and toppings, and enjoy it on the deck. Be sure to let us know what you think in person. I'll be there most of the day again.

Sandwich shop in about 2 weeks Smiler
2nd time there in two days, man I could get fat on this stuff ... wait is it fat free? Not with the toppings I put on you can bet it's not.

Hey kudos again for a great (unique) place to enjoy dessert. Keep this up and you may have Rice Box's problem. Too many folks coming in there and not enough parking to support them (good thing you have that area behind the business to park).

It was enjoyable setting out on the deck, enjoying the evening and a yogurt and although the yogurt is great, all by itself, the huge selections of toppings made me feel like it was a candy store with a side of yogurt.

Can't say enough .. I love this place! yeah too much .. something has to give because now my grandkids enjoy it too much and want to go everyday. Personally I'm glad y'all opened up and provided something greatly needed for Florence. Can't wish you enough good luck.
I want to encourage everyone to take your families, friends, loved ones, etc. to Frostbite. Just got back with the family and we loved it! The yogurt was wonderful, more toppings than you can imagine, the fruit was fresh and delicious, the staff was young, friendly, and helpful. Sat on the deck and had a good time.

You owe yourself a treat. Go!!!

1 it's a very clean nice place. the staff was very friendly and helpful.
2 the yogurt was very very good. i put pinapple and strawberry on mine, and was happily surprized at the quality and flavor of the fruit.
3 it was, to me, a little pricy. i suppose i should have expected it, the cost seemed about on par with the ice cream place that used to be over by the mall.
unfortunatly, this does mean that we won't be visiting as often as the service and the quality makes us want to.
i'm not trying to scare anyone away, because it really was great stuff.
I agree it is premium but then I've found, as is this case, you get what you pay for and although it carries a premium price you get premium taste and value. For those looking for a McDonalds' Sunday price you wont find it here, that's for sure, but in all the times I have been there, most likely too many for my own good, I have never left feeling I received a bad value for what I spent.

As with most everything I post, that's just my opinion.
OH no no no... i didn't either. i got what i paid for. it was all excellent.
i just didn't think far enough ahead about the cost. acctually, i didn't think about it at all, i just thought ME WANT! and went.
and was a little taken aback at the number on the reciept.
i was just thinking to make sure people had considered this when they went, and didn't get upset and not go back. i want them to go back, to make sure it's still there for the next time i'm able to go back Smiler
We have found that there may be people that fill the cups up more than they think, and that the toppings are actually pretty heavy. To combat this a bit, we are trying to get a "smaller" cup to help parents portion control with children a bit easier. Adults will be allowed to use the smaller cup if they want as well.

I've only heard two complaints about pricing so far, and one of those we traced back to an incorrect key function by an employee on the 2nd day in business. I have not heard anything since.

We want your feedback, so keep 'em coming.
well, i knew we had a long hot drive back, so didn't want a cup of soup, so we made sure to only put a little in. we got 4 cups, one of them *might* have been as much as half full, but i tried to stop before i got there.
mine had one spoon of pinapples and one of strawberries, my wifes had one of strawberries and a little drizzle of hot fudge.
the other two for the kids were plain.
it was just a tad shy of 18 bucks.

i am NOT saying it wasn't worth it, that i didn't get my money's worth, just that i wasn't expecting it.

i think a smaller cup would be a great idea.

Question Opti: are you planning to offer different flavors that the 6 you had that day i was there? ( chocolate, strawberry, praline, cake, something pink, and the italian one)

one of the reasons i quit bothering with TCBY way back when was the last few times i went they always had the same flavors.

Hint: i'm a huge fan of peach Smiler
A couple of quick answers..

Yes, we do have sugar free varieties, but none have been run at Frostbite yet.

Flavors..wow, 80 or so to choose from. We do rotate them frequently.

We will always try to have a tart, chocolate, and vanilla. Three flavors are in continuous rotation. So far we have sold:

Original Tart
Italian Tart
Blueberry Tart
Orange Sorbet
Pink Lemonade Sorbet
Mango Sorbet
Triple Chocolate
Milk Chocolate
Creamy Dark Chocolate
Vanilla Bean
Tahitian Vanilla
Fancy French Vanilla
Cookies and Cream
Root Beer Float
Peanut Butter
Banana Pudding
Birthday Cake (the favorite of the Shoals so far)

Probably missed one or two in the list.
