... says Obama.

Until now, I've considered Obama's mistakes a combination of arrogance and incompetence.  Now, I must add academic ivory tower blindness to the two; or sheer malevolence.

No difference between a system that has slaughtered 180 million in its name.  Not to mention a miserable life, with shortages of everything a rule for 99 percent of the population.  The ruling apparat and politburo excepted, of course.  That's communism's gift to the world.

Or, capitalism, an engine that drives the most abundant lifestyle for the largest number, the world has known.

T"he Independent Sentinel reported:

Barack Obama told an audience of Argentinian youth that the differences between socialism and capitalism make interesting conversation but just pick whatever works. The ideological-left US president suddenly doesn’t have an affinity for ideology.

He said in the past there was a sharp division between communists, socialists and capitalists but that is merely an intellectual argument and it’s not so today.

The Marxist in the White House is erasing the lines between two dangerous ideologies and the one that made the US great, just as he erased our borders. This is a man who would be at home in communist China.

“So often in the past there has been a division between left and right, between capitalists and communists or socialists, and especially in the Americas, that’s been a big debate,” Obama said at the Buenos Aires town hall.

“Those are interesting intellectual arguments, but I think for your generation, you should be practical and just choose from what works. You don’t have to worry about whether it really fits into socialist theory or capitalist theory. You should just decide what works.”

For Obama, high taxation, wild spending, government agency domination over the people and heavy regulations work which tells you what he is."

TRUTH -- THE NEW HATE SPEECH!

He obviously blames the whole American system of Capitalism as responsible for all the inadequacies in the world, all the abuses, all the unfairness.  He loathes most Americans and certainly the founders of this Nation and the Constitutional system of government that we have.   Any opposition to Obama or anything he wants to do is viewed as and categorized as systemic racism and bigotry.

One thing democrats are great at doing and that is getting Republicans to react to labels and words, racism being one of the biggest ones.  That word alone causes Republicans, or most of them, to drop all their opposition to anything Obama wants to do and allows him to control them and their actions and responses and is one of the chief reasons Republicans have not touched or defunded Obamacare (aka Democratic Healthcare bill).

Any intelligent person reading the article you posted will readily see that you are distorting the message the President brought to that audience.

Any intelligent person can see he is advocating an ivory tower mélange that's never worked and can't work.  its the cry of the academic with no real world experience.

Well, he was a community organizer, and we can all see how well that worked! LOL!!

To be fair, what passes for capitalism these days is a product of Mussolini and other semi-socialists early in the 20th Century. It is the system FDR embraced which continues today. It is enough for the state to control the means of production with laws and regulations and let those who know how to run things produce wealth. The biggest area of contention between political parties is how much the state can skim off the top from those who make things to give to those who take things for their votes.

Looks like the link didn't work. An excerpt:

The **** press enthusiastically hailed the early New Deal measures: America, like the Reich, had decisively broken with the "uninhibited frenzy of market speculation." The **** Party newspaper, the Völkischer Beobachter, "stressed 'Roosevelt's adoption of National Socialist strains of thought in his economic and social policies,' praising the president's style of leadership as being compatible with Hitler's own dictatorialFührerprinzip" (p. 190).

Nor was Hitler himself lacking in praise for his American counterpart. He "told American ambassador William Dodd that he was 'in accord with the President in the view that the virtue of duty, readiness for sacrifice, and discipline should dominate the entire people. These moral demands which the President places before every individual citizen of the United States are also the quintessence of the German state philosophy, which finds its expression in the slogan "The Public Weal Transcends the Interest of the Individual"'" (pp. 19-20). A New Order in both countries had replaced an antiquated emphasis on rights.

Mussolini, who did not allow his work as dictator to interrupt his prolific journalism, wrote a glowing review of Roosevelt's Looking Forward. He found "reminiscent of fascism … the principle that the state no longer leaves the economy to its own devices"; and, in another review, this time of Henry Wallace's New Frontiers, Il Duce found the Secretary of Agriculture's program similar to his own corporativism (pp. 23-24).

Roosevelt never had much use for Hitler, but Mussolini was another matter. "'I don't mind telling you in confidence,' FDR remarked to a White House correspondent, 'that I am keeping in fairly close touch with that admirable Italian gentleman'" (p. 31). Rexford Tugwell, a leading adviser to the president, had difficulty containing his enthusiasm for Mussolini's program to modernize Italy: "It's the cleanest … most efficiently operating piece of social machinery I've ever seen. It makes me envious" (p. 32, quoting Tugwell).
