No Moderator?

As I understand it, there are no regular mods. Things that get reported, are viewed by who is available. Then they take or dont, appropriate action.
As far as your comment buffalo, it had nothing to do with DF asking to be a mod. In the olden days, right before the TD was sold, anyone could apply to help the mods out. About all that it meant was if the mod from the general public reported a thread, it got looked at first.

So he's been one of the few behaving like an adult in all of this, buffalo, how does this disqualify him? I think having a mod like DF would bring a little fun back to the forum, and considering all the personal information that was plastered all over the TD last weekend, I think people would be less afraid to post with him as a mod.

Do you, or anyone else on the Religion Forum, really believe that Deep can be an objective moderator when it comes to Christianity or Christian subjects?

If it came down to him being a mod, yes, he would be fair in all the categories of the forum. Even the one you try to run Bill. Bill, I used to be a deacon. It is people like you that try to force feed people with Christianity that gives Christians a bad name. I used to visit people, to try to get them to come to church. One of the most used replies was, "I dont want to go to church with a bunch of hypocrites" To which i would respond, I dont want to go to hell with them either.
Back to the subject, yeah i do think he would have been fair even to you BetterThanThouBill....

Except for an occasional troll, most of the nastiness happens in misc, entertainment, and ironically, feedback.

DF would be a fair mod and knowing someone was actually watching may in itself deter the members from engaging in the 'spitting' contest.

I don't always agree with DeepFat, but I think he would be a fair moderator.

I've observed that Deep stands firmly by his principles and defends what he thinks; I respect that, even though I am Christian (today anyway) and he is an atheist. He wouldn't ban someone for disagreeing with him; if he did, who would he have to argue with?

BTW, hasn't it occurred to you that beating DF and the others over the head the way you do will never bring them around to your point of view? If any of them did suddenly decide to become Christians, you'd be the last one they'd inform because they wouldn't give you the satisfaction of being right.

Thanks for the support. There is a difference between my opinions and what is fair to post under the Terms of Service. Yes, I would have gotten it.

But, the TD powers that be have decided not to allow volunteer moderators here. More's the pity.

To give the TD their rightful creds, they did erase posts and ban certain users who violated the Terms.

I also think they went overboard in a couple of cases. We can disagree.

I remain willing to help mod this forum, if the TD is willing. I appreciate the voices of support, and would perform my duties within the Terms. That's enough, the Terms are well written.

Deep would be an excellent mod. Deep believes in free speech and would not infringe upon it. He just wouldn`t put up with any bull coming from the trolls out there.
