I normally stay out of politics, but have been here a bit more the past few days because of the primarys. I think I have truely seen some of the forum regulars true sides in the last few days.

There are some hateful, hurtful, uncaring people here in TD forumland, both new and a couple of regulars. You could come and debate the topics, or you can come here and sling mud. It is hard to believe how many regulars that complain about mud being slung at 'their' candidate have come out and slung mud at the other folks running.

Its been a very educational few days. I hope other forum regulars have been here watching as well.

I haven't claimed to be.

This isn't going to be a black sheep sour grapes thread is it?

Responding to attacks does not require answering those attacks. It takes a bigger man to stand up and say 'Your trash does not deserve a response.'

Believe it or not, life really is just like high school. You can usually tell those that just like to stir the pot. Folks that encourage those that like to stir the pot are no better than those doing the stirring.

We wonder why our politicians go to slinging mud so quickly? Its because there are so many people out there that want to see it and participate. The past few days here in politics is proof of that....

It has nothing to do with sour grapes. I don't live in the Shoals so I'm not involved with the local politics. It has to do with so-called Christians like you that make me sick.

And you've got a seriously sick obsession with the black sheep. You should get some help for that.
Buttercup if you don't live in the Shoals and not involved here why do you give a rip about the area? Why not just write the area off? Do you feel a need to "educate" us and "bring us to today's world"? Thanks but I prefer the moral standards of the area, where wrong is wrong. That is not to say the people of the area are perfect but that the pattern of most of the people is to strive to live upright. You can keep the change and no thanks for the "help." Why not try to help the area where you do live? (and stay out of the Shoals business?)
People who go to church are not necessarily Christians. A person should not have to tell that they are a Christian, it should be demonstrated through their actions. It has been my experience on this forum, that several individuals make claims of being a Christian but project a different image. I understand we are human and all make mistakes but how many times do we have to make them before we realize we are wrong?

I agree with you but I'm not sure I understand. Where does it state that the best leaders are those with no faults or blemishes? We've all made mistakes in our lives, that's one way we learn valuable lessons. Does that make us less of a good person? I would rather have a former alcoholic that's been divorced three times with a banktruptcy that believes in the Constitution the way the founders intended than a liberal willing to do anything to advance his progressive agenda.

And where in the forum rules does it state I have to be a "Shoals Resident" to post here? It doesn't. I might also post on the forums of the Des Moines Register, and I don't live there either. So to answer your question I'll stay out of the Shoals' business when and if I decide to.

Really? Does that include the whopping slew of meth users and pedophiles in the area - whose mug shots I see on the front of the TDF every other week? Does "where wrong is wrong" also include the reputation for low wage jobs the area is known for?

It's an illusion to think that the problems of the immoral world don't touch that little corner of Alabama, Shoals Resident. It's a cliche, but there is actually good and bad everywhere.

Hey Butter, Speaking of obsessions, why are you obsessed with church going members of this forum, I've looked back at some of your post and Christians really seem to bother you. Live and let live

Christians don't bother me; "so-called" Christians are what bother me and there are plenty of them that frequently spew hate on this forum.

Not sure what you're point is other than you hate Christians.

You seem at least somewhat intelligent so I would think you could figure out my point, which is I can't stand hypocrites.

And I've never said I hate Christians, or even that I'm not a Christian. I just don't feel the need to shout hallelujah about it.

Buttercup when you accuse the majority of ministers in any religion of abusing their wives people are going to get the idea you have a problem with Christianity! I am not COC but thought your post on another thread was ridiculous!

I was raised in that cult church and know of what I speak. And I didn't say they all abuse their wives; I said it was typical. (I've seen plenty of examples.)
