Hi to my Forum Friends,

In the discussion titled "Just A Question........."  begun by The Bald Guy, he asks the question, "Why continue the same old tired arguments in the Religion Forum -- every single day?  All you people do is argue, get mad, call each other names -- and start over tomorrow!  If I could prove there 'was no God or is a God' -- do you really think I'd start here, in this forum?. . .   Sometimes, you just have to take things on 'faith!'"

Well, Guy, speaking for myself -- most often when I post, I do try to avoid the "spitting contests" -- and post things which I believe may be of interest to other believers, especially new believers, and to those who are just beginning to consider seeking a relationship with God.

This is why, when discussions have gone on so long that they have deteriorated into personal "spitting contests" -- or have been purposely hijacked by non-believers who want to detract from the teaching of God's Word -- I will just excuse myself, as I have here, and begin a new discussion.

At least this way, those with an interest will see what I have written and can choose to read it if I have captured their interest.  If I post on the bottom of a hijacked or anti-Christian discussion -- many Christian believers will not see it; for they will most likely do as I do and avoid such discussions.

But, in response to Guy's original question, Puppy has declared, "What The Bald Guy is referring to is "blind faith."  There's a difference."

Actually, Puppy, it is not "blind faith."  In my case, it is a faith which began after I participated in worship service, Sunday School, and Bible study for a period of six months.  Why did I participate?   Well, Christian love is what first attracted me.  At a party, I met a very Godly pastor who exuded the love of God.  The following day, this love I saw in Pastor Sam Lacanienta led me to visit the church where he was pastor.

At this church, I felt the love of God flowing through this man, permeating the entire congregation -- and coming to me.  This led me to attend their Sunday Schools and Bible studies to learn more about God, Jesus Christ, and the Bible.  After six months of study -- I chose to become a Christ Follower, a Christian believer -- through faith in what I had learned up to that point.

However, even then, I was still a "babe in Christ" -- with much to learn.  At that time, I could not understand how a person could attend Seminary and study the same book, the Bible, for four years.   Yet, I have been studying it for 24 years -- and still learn more every day.

What began as a "baby faith" for me, has grown into a mature faith which is still growing daily.   What is the foundation of my faith?   Well, it begins with the cornerstone of the Bible, Genesis 1 -- along with the cornerstone of our Christian faith, John 1.  These, amplified by the other 64 books of the Bible, are bound together by a personal spiritual mortar which has been growing in strength for 24 years -- consisting of (1) personal revelations from God, (2) definitely answered prayers, both for me personally and for close friends, (3) and capped by fulfilled prophecy -- which is found only in the Bible -- over 1800 prophecies.

I realize that when I wrote "personal revelations from God" -- this will bring barbed chides from my non-believing Friends.  Am I claiming to be a prophet -- or a special person to whom God gives special revelations?  No.  I am merely a Christian believer who, through  daily study of God's Word, will gain new revelations -- things He reveals to me -- as I study His Word.

Let me give you a couple of examples.   About 20 years ago, when I was first studying the prophecies of the End Times; I could not understand what would happen to believers still alive at the end of the Tribulation.  Would they be raptured into immortal bodies -- or what?

One day I was driving home from work and was stopped at a traffic light.  Sitting there, thinking only of getting home and relaxing -- suddenly the thought came to me -- those believers will go into His Millennial Kingdom in their mortal bodies.  And, they will continue to marry and have children in His 1000 year Millennial Reign.  I wasn't even thinking about any of this, only thinking of getting home.  Yet, God put this on my mind at that time.  That was a revelation from God.  No, it does not make me a prophet; just a blessed believer.

One other example:  For a long time I had tried to read the book of Job -- and could not make sense of it.  One evening, I was sitting on my patio studying thea Bible.  I was reading in John.  At one point, a reference Scripture was given and it was Job 42:10, "The LORD restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the LORD increased all that Job had twofold."

Wow, Job had lost everything -- his children, his wealth, his health -- and all he had left was a nagging wife and four friends who told him that this was all his fault because of past sins -- yet, Job was a Godly man.   But, when Job prayed for these questionable friends  -- God restored him -- twofold!

When I read this verse, I was intrigued.  So, I turned to Job 1:1 and began reading.  That night the book of Job was easy to read -- almost like reading an interesting novel.  This is the book I could never read before.   Yet, that night I read completely through Job and understood what I was reading.  This was a special revelation from God -- in His perfect time.

The capstone of Biblical validity is prophecy.  No other supposedly sacred book contains fulfilled, confirmed prophecies -- and those in the Bible have been proven, by religious and secular sources, to be 100% accurate.  This alone confirms the validity of the Bible as God's Written Word.

Then, of course, He confirms this in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 when, through the inspired writing of the apostle Paul, He tells us, "ALL Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."   This Scripture passage not only tells us that God was the inspiration behind the writing of the Bible -- but, that He wrote the Bible to be used by all men of God, i.e., all Christian believers.

Given all of this, how can one say that faith in Jesus Christ is "blind faith"?   It is a faith built upon a solid foundation and held together by very strong spiritual truths for the mortar.

Puppy, you really should take your eyes off the world and give Jesus Christ a try.   I promise, you WILL be eternally happy if you will  do -- and, I promise that, if you will come to Him -- He will receive you with open arms (Revelation 3:20).

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Hi all,

As I said in my post, "I realize that when I wrote "personal revelations from God" -- this will bring barbed chides from my non-believing Friends."

And, sure enough, the two Forum members most engulfed in spiritual darkness are the first to respond.  Thank you, my Friends, for being SO DEPENDABLE.  I am sure that all the Christian believers on the Religion Forum will be praying for you.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Horsecrap, BeeG.

It IS blind faith.  You didn't know of the fable until somebody told it to you and then you didn't believe it until somebody convinced you to.

There's no actual evidence of god or an 'afterlife.'  It's just another ghost story.

I'll not waste another minute of my life pretending that there's another one after it.

First please list any "evil" that I do. Secondly tell me what I am tearing down or discrediting? Do you mean your lies? I will continue to "tear down and discredit" those. You won't get away with rewriting history and telling outright lies to support and spread your beliefs.  What would be positive and uplifting to you? Agreeing with you? Not happening.

That's bill in his "atta boy" persona.

Hi Crusty,

Actually, I am like you -- some of the best revelations come while in the shower.  The shower relaxes us and makes us more receptive and open to hearing and receiving the teachings of the Holy Spirit.  See how much you and I have in common?

No, my revelations are not inspirations such as the Holy Spirit gave to the writers of the Bible.   They were a special class of men; and I am just plain old Bill Gray, a believer who wants to honor the instructions left for all believers by Jesus Christ -- to Go, Disciple, Baptize, Teach (Matthew 28:19-20) and to be His witnesses in all the world (Acts 1:8, Mark 16:15).

And, even if I were that special -- the canon of the Bible is already set in concrete.   God chose the writings, i.e., the books, He wanted to be in our Bible -- and He made it happen.  Now, we have His full revelation to all mankind at our fingertips.  Because of that, there is no longer any need for prophets.

But, Crusty, thank you for thinking so highly of me and my writings.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Hi all,

Don't know about you, but this sounds like a plea to me.  You know, like, "Please show me there really is an afterlife.  Please show me God is real.  Please show me there really is a chance that I will not just rot away in a grave.  Please show me that I can choose an alternative to eternal hell."

Yes, Virginia -- oh, excuse me, Puppy -- there is a God!  And, He is waiting with open arms for YOU to open the door of your heart and ask Him to come in and be your Best Friend (Revelation 3:20).  He will not force His way in.  Actually, He cannot even open that door from the outside.  You see, that door has no handle on the outside; only on the inside.  So, YOU have to choose to open the door of your heart and invite Him to come in.

But, I promise you -- if you will do this, He WILL come in and He WILL be your Best Friend, your personal Lord and Savior.  And, you WILL have eternal security in Him -- knowing that YOU will spend eternity in the presence of God (Ephesians 1:13, 4:30).

Wow!  How can anyone with half a brain refuse such a special "FREE GIFT" -- eternal happiness instead of eternal hell?   As your old Noo Yawk gang buddies would say, "Dat's is a gift you can't refuse!"

Why, He will even accept YOU while you are still wearing your Noo Yawk under shirt!

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

ROMANS 1:16-18

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

God’s Wrath on Unrighteousness.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.

THIS MEANS YOU JENNIFER AND ANYONE ELSE WHO TRY'S TO DISCREDIT GOD.

Discredit something that doesn't exist? I'll tell you again bill, it's your lies I will discredit. And if you truly believed in your own fairy tales you'd be afraid to lie and bear false witness like you do. But you know as well as I do that gods do not exist.

I'll just bet that old Chris Columbus was laughed at and ridiculed by some idiots when he said that he believed that there was other oceans to explore. Or how about those Wright brothers when they were discussing the idea of trying to fly like the birds or Thomas Edison or Eli Whitney. Road Puppy, you should realize that just because you can't see something doesn't mean it don't exist. I've never seen California but I believe it exist. Reason being, someone wrote a book called a map that has the way to get to California on it. So, I can get there if I follow that map. That's what the Bible is, a road map to Heaven. Very simple.

Prove what Christians believe is a lie. You say it's a lie just because you choose to not believe. That doesn't make you the expert of lies. I'll believe God and His word before I'll listen to or believe you. That's for sure. Faith in Jennifer, or faith in God. I'll take God. Listen to Jennifer, go to Hell, listen to God, go to Heaven. I'll take Heaven.

If I'm wrong then when I die all is well, if your wrong, eternity in the lake of fire where the worm never dies and there will be weeping and nashing of teeth for all ETERNITY.

You better get on your knees and pray that you're right. Oh, I forgot, you don't believe in prayer. Well I guess you just need to bet or hope or whateve it is you athiest do when need someone to turn to.

Wow!! You've seen pictures of a god?? Taken by people that were actually there with him?? Whoa buddy, produce them. Now not someone's idea of what your god looked like but actual pictures. Come on now, show us the pictures and tell us who took them and where they and your god were on that day. You look more ridiculous with every post you make.

Road Puppy evil? no freakin way..he's got it figured out. LIVE the life you have now, you only get one

Correct, you only have one. Then you die and then eternity. Unless you choose to not believe in Heaven or Hell. Only hope you have is hoping that what you believe is right and not wrong. If you're wrong and I'm God exist and everything that's written in the Bible is actually then I'm sorry to say it's Hell for you and all other unbelievers.

No one has to have faith in me, and I don't threaten them with a horrible torture if they don't. You're very lucky there is no lake of fire or your butt would be in the middle of it trying to dog paddle back to s h o r e. If I ever need someone to turn to there will be family and friends. And the one thing that is for sure-they exist. Funny thing, your god and your belief hasn't made you a decent human being.

When you saw the pictures of California were you there to see who took the pictures. Were they actually taken in California. How about Japan. We've all seen pictures in books or magazines of far away places but unless you've actually been there and seen it for YOURSELF you are only taking the word of a person that may or may not be telling the truth. In other words you have FAITH that that person is not pulling the wool over your eyes.

I guess Jennifer doesn't believe that I exist either since she's never seen me.

Family and friends die. God is eternal. And the one thing that is for sure-they exist. For a season then they die. Funny thing, your god and your belief hasn't made you a decent human being. Oh yes it has. You wouldn't believe what I used to be like before I asked Jesus into my life. I'm a totally different person than what I used to be. I still have those old satan times called sin but at least i'm forgiven because Jesus died for my sins.

Amen and Amen, thank the Lord

and then i'll say "fair enough"

and actually i've never said i was a unbeliever, i just don't believe in the whole organized religion concept. I live my life the best i can. Am i going to be punished because i dont go to a building every sunday with a bunch of hypocrites? or i don't "pray"? Have you ever even wondered WHY there would be anything after this life? Say two people live identical lives, though one is Agnostic, so he goes to hell ONLY because he didnt BELIEVE in a God and attend church? even though his life was identical to yours?

Yes friends and family die. But until I die I will have friends and family around. You may be a different person but you're still not a good person. And like I said, you had better be glad there is no one for you to answer to after you die.

As a matter of fact I was there when some pictures of California were taken. Now again, are you going to produce those photos of your god? And again, not someone's idea of what your god looked like but the actual pictures.

[Yes friends and family die. But until I die I will have friends and family around. You may be a different person but you're still not a good person. And like I said, you had better be glad there is no one for you to answer to after you die.]

Why do you say that I'm not a good person? You don't even know me. Everything I tell you I've said in order to try and help you understand that just because you choose to not believe in God doesn't mean He doesn't exist. All I'm saying is if He does exist I wouldn't want to be you when you die and stand before God and are judged. You may not like the way God has arranged things and you may say that God is bad because how could he punish a person even though that person is a good person. I'm sorry but when it comes down to it, it really doesn't matter what you think. God has a plan, this is His earth and everything that was made was made for Him and by Him and he WILL DO whatever He wants when He wants. BUT, he has given you a choice. You can either accept what Jesus did for you on the cross or you can reject what His only begotten Son did for you on the cross. Your choice, your freewill.

You're not a good person because of the way you talk about people that don't believe your god exists. You call me evil but you don't know me. What evil thing have I ever done? I guess you consider me evil for telling you your god doesn't exist. You keep saying people choose not to believe in a god, that is a lie. People can't choose to believe or not believe. Good people don't lie on purpose. They might misspeak or get it wrong but to just lie like you do is not something a good person does. I don't like the way god has arranged things? What god? There is no god arranging things, life does that. If your god was real and had a plan, it would be the most screwed up plan ever put into motion. Believe what you will, but you and others like you are facing a new day so to speak. A day when more and more people are speaking up and calling BS on your fairy tale and refusing to let you indoctrinate our children with it, run our country with it, and have free run to ram it down our throats.

You make a big deal out of people reading this forum, like there are thousands of them and you somehow are "reaching them". Well there aren't thousands reading it, and if anyone read the way you talk to and about non-believers and took anything you say to heart they would be ****** in the head.

Not everybody dresses like Opie Taylor from The Andy Griffith Show..

And what's with the obsession around here with wife-beating?

Is that normal good christian behavior?  I'd like to think that the women around here have more dignity and strength than to let some guy beat on them.
