Adversaries listening in on Trumps private calls?
If this is true, and it's been speculated before, that China and possibly Russia are listening in on the President's phone calls. People have said before that our adversaries are always trying to find ways to listen to the Presidents communications, phone calls, and other talks within the White House but to me, this is a story that never should be printed or even alluded to if indeed it is true.
Having your adversaries being able to listen to your calls or conversations isn't all bad because if you know they are listening it is a powerful weapon in your hands. You have the ability to feed them false information in hopes they may act upon it. One of the (in my opinions) most important pairs of deceptions where false information may have led to victories was the D-Day misinformation about the actual landing site of the allies into France. Hitler was so convinced that the landing was going to happen elsewhere that when the news came in of the actual landing Hitler did not believe it and would not divert resources till way into the landing. Another purposeful deception was perpetrated by Ronald Reagan and it helped to end the cold war and defeat Russia. That deception was the Star Wars program where the Russians or USSR (then) believed the United States was much further ahead in Space weaponry and the USSR spent themselves into poverty and thus ended the Cold War without an actual war being started.
Often times it's not what your enemies know that is so damaging but rather what they think they know but don't. Just thinking we were so far ahead of them in Space weaponry caused them to spend wildly in an attempt to catch up to something that didn't exist. So if our adversaries have a way to listen in and we know about it then I believe it's best to remain silent about it.
