When I was in NY recently, I tried to keep to myself and not look so much like a tourist. That was possible until I opened my mouth and asked things like " where is y'alls bathroom" If I had saw a homeless man laying on the sidewalk I would have not thought a lot about it UNLESS I saw the pool of blood. If I saw the blood, I would have told the police or someone in some type of authority. From the video, I didn't see any blood. It looked like another homeless man who was passed out.
NOW....on the other hand, if I had seen that same scene in Florence, Alabama, I would have definitely called for help.
It is kinda the same thought process you have when you see a car broken down on the side of the road. You wanna stop to help but now days you can never be sure that it would be safe to stop. Its sad but true.

Uhhh...the "thug" was already GONE!

If he was already gone, how did he manage to kill the Good Samaritan?

He killed him before he left...DUHHH! that is what the story is about...oh I see...you couldn't be the tough guy without inferring you would kill the perp first... Roll Eyes

But you wouldn't be you or any one of your former aliases if you didn't take time to slur cops in general and me in particular.

The original poster's question was "What would YOU have done?". No other specifics. Nothing about a time line. My original answer to that question completely satisfied the question.

But, to be absolutely specific, I would have shot the armed robber in the process of committing a felony, quite probably with two rounds to the chest and one to the head. If he survived, I would have rendered first aid to him until medical assistance arrived and law enforcement with jurisdiction arrived. I would have then identified myself, made arrangements to give a statement, and went home alive.

If the robber was gone prior to my arrival, I would have summoned medical assistance and police for the victim, then given first aid to stop the bleeding as necessary until medical assistance and the police arrived. As I have before.

Then, I would have been the best witness I could to assist in the arrest and conviction of the felon responsible for the attack.

Unlike you, who would have walked right past the victim and complained that the responding cops parked next to a fire hydrant when they got there. Roll Eyes
Yes,the question was... "what would you have done".

The situation was... "A homeless man who was stabbed while saving a woman from a knife-wielding attacker lay dying in a pool of his own blood for more than an hour while several New Yorkers walked past without calling for help."

Now tell me...how are you going to do ANYTHING to the perp when he isn't even there?

The article is about people ignoring the wounded man, not about protecting him from the perp. Dayyuuummm...is you that stupid?

Answered...whether you like it (and I hope you don't) or not.

Your next asinine question? Wink

anyone who reads my posts knows i'm very hard on a corrupt cop or one who thinks he's some bad-butt just because he has a badge and gun, i will do all i can to hunt them down and make sure just punishment is served, after several debates with sassy and dogsoldier, i feel that these are two of the good guys working hard to make us safer. and i personallly know several good honest hard working cops and deputies in our area. so let's beat on the bad ones and leave the good ones alone so they can keep doing a good job.
