.J.Res. 15: Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.

Says 0% chance of it moving forward - but see what our New York Democrats spend their time doing.

Beam me up, Scotty, there's no intelligent life here......

Any sane person knows that amendment is supported by and concerned directly with dear ol' Slick Willie. Where's the barf bag?

Yeah, thats why I said 0% chance of it passing.  I thought we could all use a good giggle at the expense of New York!

That would be enough to keep this forum going strong for years and years to come. They may even need to install another politics forum just to hold all the whining and bellyaching . LOL

What I find interesting that the Obama conspiracy theorists seem to leave out, is this country existed 171 years without term limits.   Things ran fine and only twice was a President elected more than two terms, both being FDR.    I personally am against term limits, always have been.   I wrote a paper in high school against term limits, so I have felt this way a long time.

Why would Barry want to be president one second longer than his regular term?

He stands to make $ millions and $ millions doing speaches  at meetings for the companies that the government purchases items from.  I call it legal corruption.

Just look how much Gore Jr. has made as a lowly vice president of little worth.  He's walking away with a cool $100 million for his share of a cable television station nobody has ever heard of or watched.

Makes a ton of sense.   You can't attack anything factual that I stated, so you make some random insult that holds no real place in the conversation.   Just how small is your genitalia?

Believe it or not, Winston actually has a sophisticated method for coming up with his responses.

First of all, he looks at the calendar to see what date it is, and turns to that page number is his "Right Wing Ready Made Reply Phrasebook."

Then, he rolls his Magic 8 Ball across the floor. When it stops rolling, he notes which number floats to the top, looks on the page in the Phrasebook to the phrase corresponding to the number on his Magic 8 Ball.

Finally, with a flourish and a smirk of satisfaction, he posts that reply as his own as if it actually had something with the subject matter being discussed.

Fair question.  I look at history and see the country ran fine without term limits.   I can understand why some people fear despotism and tyrrany, but I think the history shows our electorate has been reluctant to give too much power.   I feel that as long as the process remains democratic (insert voter suppression remark here), then whomever the people want to lead, should lead.

We have plenty of public offices without term limits.   They seem to run fine for the most part.   I do understand that this would or could work to my advantage in certain circumstances, but it could also work to my disadvantage.   A third term from G.W. is terribly frightening to me.

I can see your side of it.   But I do also see 171 years of no term limits and things ran fine.   Just my opinion but I do not see that as absolute power.   Even if you serve multiple terms, you still have other branches of Government that are there to balance powers.

I don't know about them running fine. Most of them are in there because of their political machines and I've seen both parties keep electing people that shouldn't have been in office the first time, much less for "life".  A second term from obama is frightening to me, can't imagine having him there for a third, fourth, so on.
