Obama Deploys Troops Without Equipment

During the Iraq invasion, Bush was attacked for sendind in troops without body armor or uparmored Humvees. A good reason was the items didn't exist.

Obama is deploying troops ahead of the equipment they need, instead of timing their arrival simultaneously.

"CAMP LEATHERNECK, Afghanistan — Thousands of U.S. troops are being rushed to Afghanistan without the equipment they will need to fight an emboldened Taliban, Defense Secretary Robert Gates and military officials said Thursday.


The equipment delay is "a considerable concern," Gates said as he toured a dusty forward base in south Afghanistan where some 200 newly deployed Marines and sailors are arriving each day as part of the buildup of 21,000 new U.S. troops."

In 1966, upon being told that Charles de Gaulle had taken France out of NATO and that all U.S. troops must be evacuated from French soil, President Lyndon Johnson told Secretary of State Dean Rusk: 'Ask him about the cemeteries, Dean!'

So, at end of the meeting, Dean asked de Gaulle if his order to remove all U.S. troops from French soil also included the 60,000 plus soldiers buried in France from World War I and World War II. De Gaulle never answered.

"Well, let's be even-handed here. Republicans consistently vote not to provide funds for this necessary equipment and instead want the money spent on high tech equipment that can be used to invade other countries that we're not even involved in yet."

Please give any example of Republicans cutting funds and for which equipment.

Obama's reduction of the Army's Future Combat Systems will result in casualties in the future.

The military plans for the future, not to do so results in disasters like WWII.

Even if this was true which it's not, proving you believe the sound bites of the leftist media, it still does not change the fact that the Obama administration can not handle the situation at hand. It's really starting to get pathetic, his administration should be advised to s-l-o-w d-o-w-n and think things through.

Yes it is amusing how Obama has mishandled such trivial things like flying a 747 over Manhattan at low altitude, stopping the on again off again photos of enhanced interrogation, spending TRILLIONS of our money and putting the US into financial jeopardy, yada, yada, yada.

Go ahead blame it on Bush, when in reality Bush plus 42 other Presidents have NOT spent how much Obama plans to.

Gibbs spends most of his time now making apologies at the Press Conferences.

Obama is going at it like a mad beaver, I think he realizes he will be a 1 term President, he's making Carter look brilliant.

Makes about as much sense as jr inherenting a surplus that he turned into a trillon dollar deficet, but whos counting!! Apparently you weren't until hussein took office!! But now its his problem and he has to fix it!! If you do not like whos president, go find someone who's electable to lead your party!! If you can do that and they win the next election and fix all our nations problems, you will not here me complain. Hell!! I might become a republican!!

There was NO actual REAL surplus.

Here's your first clue, why was the National debt still growing while Clinton was in office if he had a surplus?
