Hi to all my Forum Friends,

The excerpts below are from the Perspectives section of OneNewsNow.Com and, in my mind, raise several questions. First, why do we have a president who is so evasive about his religious beliefs -- when it is so easy to put the issue to rest?

And, of course, the question which has been on the minds of Americans for the past two years -- is Obama an American citizen or is he in the White House illegally, i.e., against the criteria set down in our Constitution as strict requirements for a person to be elected to the presidency -- a natural born American citizen? Again, this is an issue which can easily be put to rest.

The biggest question on most minds is: Why will he not simply stand up like a man and settle these two simple issues -- instead of allowing them to fester like an open wound?

If I had stolen money and was asked if I had stolen the money -- I would either lie, say no, or keep my mouth shut.

On the other hand, if I had not stolen the money and actually had proof which would show me to be innocent -- I would be an idiot to not quickly produce that evidence.

As the article below says, "This isn't rocket science."

I have only shown excerpts from Dr. Kengor's article. To read the full article, click on the URL shown below:

OBAMA INVITES CONFUSION ABOUT HIS FAITH
OneNewsNow.Com, Perspective Section
Dr. Paul Kengor - Guest Columnist - 8/24/2010

Dr. Paul Kengor is professor of political science and executive director of the Center for Vision & Values at Grove City College. His books include "God and Ronald Reagan," "God and George W. Bush," and "God and Hillary Clinton."

The recent poll by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life is generating much discussion over its provocative finding that an increasing number of Americans (nearly one in five) believe that President Obama is a Muslim. The survey was completed before Obama's recent comments endorsing the construction of a mosque near Ground Zero.

While this no doubt is a fascinating development, consuming most media coverage of the poll, and unprecedented in presidential history, the figure of greater interest to me — and not surprising — is the percentage of Americans unsure about whether Obama is a Christian, or, more generally, about his faith at all.

"[T]he proportion saying [Obama] is a Christian has declined," reports Pew. "More than a year and a half into his presidency, a plurality of the public says they do not know what religion Obama follows." Pew added: "Only about one-third of adults (34 percent) say Obama is a Christian, down sharply from 48 percent in 2009. Fully 43 percent say they do not know what Obama's religion is."

Our puzzling president:

All of this, from rare church attendance to the lack of other conventional displays of faith, has persisted well into Obama's presidency. Think about the oddity of this one fact alone: The current president has neither a church, nor, to my knowledge, even a denomination. When I'm asked questions about his faith, by sincere people not looking to attack, I sincerely can't give a good answer. It's a problem I didn't have with any of the Bushes, the Clintons, Reagan, Carter, and on and on.

In short, and I don't mean this to be disparaging, with Barack Obama we are witnessing the most unconventional faith profile of a president in arguably 200 years. The assessment we're getting from a curious public is not a crass misperception by a bunch of intolerants, but, rather, natural puzzlement.

Of course, it shouldn't be difficult to rectify misperceptions. Throughout American history, presidents have been asked about their faith and sat for lengthy interviews sharing their thinking, explaining precisely what they believe. Why doesn't Obama simply do the same? This isn't rocket science.

Fact: Obama has worn his CHRISTIAN faith on his shoulders more than any president in recent memory and that includes W.

Unfortunately for the nutcase religious right (that would be you, BG), he was also a CONSTITUTIONAL LAW professor and his blatant support of the 1st Amendment puts him at odds with those on the Right who would gleefully rip away our rights to worship as we please.
Let us just look at only the things we have seen.
From what Mr.Obama has done as President of our Land do we see him in the same light as say Thomas Jefferson? Although he had many faults. Do we see him as Richard Nixon who's lies still echo in our Nation.

Or is he different, one that makes everyone wonder where he stands.

I think that is his wish, to leave every American wondering, just who or what have we elected.
I believe Obama has addressed both of these issues. Some may not believe his replies or any evidence out there that refutes the rumors but it does not mean he hasn't answered the questions.

As to the photo. I grew up military, and even as a teen we all knew to put our hand on our hearts during the Pledge, but not everyone was taught to do so during the national anthem, instead some removed the hand and sang along. If you watch the video version from the date in which the photo was taken..you will see that it was taken during the anthem not the pledge, and if you watch closer you will also note that while Obama may not have had his hand over his heart..he was in fact the only one singing along. The idea that it was made into this HUGE oooh he's anti-american issue still amazes me.

Bill and bm50, I take this to mean you two are anti union?????????

Hi Rram,

When the unions first came on the scene, they were desperately needed. Today, I believe they have outlived their usefulness and are a big part of the economic problems of America.

I worked fifty years in the computer industry -- and only ran into one company which had union organizers active it.

I have always said, and I meant it -- that, if I worked for a company and it went union -- I would leave the company.

Just my thoughts. But, if unions were a bit more flexible -- maybe all of our jobs would not be going off-shore. You can counter that and say that without the unions people would be paid less. Yes, that is true. But, at least they would have jobs.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Of course, he serves Satan. He answers the question with a YES every time he mocks, belittles, & makes fun of everyone here (with the exception of one) with his stupid cartoons.

And he thinks we're dumb enough to believe he's a Christian!
He's what I call a False Witness.

Proverbs 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Bill Gray Why would you leave?

Hi Buffalo,

Because, in my opinion, most unions are more corrupt than our current White House and Congress combined. And, that is saying a lot.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

Bill

Bill,

Have you ever been a member of a trade union? If so which one?

Hi Buffalo,

No. As I said, if I had been in a company and it went union, I would have left. You ask me why. I was in one company where union organizers were trying to get in -- and, the bully tactics of those people would have turned off a saint. No thank you.

God bless, have a wonderful, blessed day,

What kind of company.?
I don't think you know what you are talking about and have simply taken a position on bad authority.
