Obama Intelligence Pick Torpedoed By Bloggers

President-elect Barack Obama has shown almost perfect pitch in crafting his new administration, aptly choosing old hands instead of fresh faces and bringing in the experience he lacks.

But there is one glaring void. Obama has yet to name key intelligence officials to manage the war against terrorism.

And one of the central reasons he hasn't come forward with a pick for one of the top jobs is because he's running into pressure from an unexpected source -- left-wing bloggers.

John Brennan, Obama's chief intelligence adviser and anticipated CIA chief, was recently forced to withdraw his name. There was no drumbeat of opposition to Brennan from the front pages or on cable. Rather, the pick was torpedoed by the blogosphere.

"Apparently there is a lot of pressure on the Obama team from a blog saying that Brennan couldn't be made the director of the CIA because he was involved in torture and renditions, which he wasn't," said Mark Lowenthal, former assistant CIA director.

Well, I honestly don't know. And I haven't had a chance to judge Barrack Obama's picks as they haven't even taken office yet. I don't give the story much credit since the reporter isn't much more than a blogger stating his opinion on why Obama did not pick somebody. I also don't really consider Fox News a reliable source for my information.

It is simply amazing how people will cling to information they gain from any available source if it matches their desires. I find it humorous that people are still beating the "palling around with terrorists" drum. But I guess some people need a way to express their dissatisfaction.

What I have said is strictly my opinion. I'm not really into debating the issue since the election is over. I simply wanted to answer the question. If I do find some dissatisfaction in Barrack Obama's performance after he takes office I will be happy to let you know.
The hypocrisy this week is amazing. The "O" picked his global warming fantasy team, and hours later, he and the family jump on a chartered Boeing 767 and fly to Hawaii to vacation in a 9 million dollar beachside home. I guess his 'carbon footprint' isn't too important. That is a big honkin' plane.
It was just a couple of weeks ago, the 'Big 3' caught all kinds of grief for flying from Detroit to D.C. in their comparitively economical and small private jets.
