Kurds and Jordan are begging for munitions to kill ISIS, but none is delivered.  Obama plans what -- nation building for ISIS fighters?  The man has become an international embarrassment.

2. SET CONTROLS TO JANUARY 1, 2003.

3. INSTALL SOMEONE IN THE OFFICE OF PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES WHO IS NOT THE PLIANT TOOL OF THE NEOCONSERVATIVE WARMONGERING IMPERIALIST/BIG OIL CROWD AND LEAD BY THE NOSE BY THE LIKES OF D I C K CHENEY AND PAUL WOLFOWITZ.

4.SIT SAID NEW PRESIDENT DOWN AND MAKE HIM LISTEN TO SOUND ADVICE FROM KNOWLEDGEABLE  PERSONS WHO UNDERSTAND THE CENTURIES-LONG AND STILL ONGOING TRIBAL AND SECTARIAN HATREDS THAT MILITATE AGAINST ANYTHING REMOTELY LIKE A WESTERN-STYLE DEMOCRACY IN A RELIGIOUSLY/IDEOLOGICALLY-RIVEN NATION LIKE IRAQ.

5.HAVE SAID NEW PRESIDENT MAKE A DECISION NOT TO INFLAME THE MILITANT EXTREMIST ELEMENTS OF THE ISLAMIC WORLD BY INVADING A DOMINANTLY ISLAMIC NATION ON FALSE PRETENSES.

6. STAY THE HELL HOME AND AVOID  A WAR THAT PREDICTABLY WILL FAIL TO YIELD ANYTHING BUT DEATH, MISERY, DESTRUCTION AND FAILURE,--EXCEPT OF COURSE THE PROFITS IT MAKES FOR DEFENSE CONTRACTORS--AND THAT WILL NOT SERVE UP A CUSTOMIZED PROPAGANDA TOOL  FOR ISIS TO USE IN RECRUITING AND BUILDING UP ITS ARMY OF DISSIDENT MURDEROUS AVENGERS!

"THE PLIANT TOOL OF THE NEOCONSERVATIVE WARMONGERING IMPERIALIST/BIG OIL CROWD"  Sounds like the old Marxist propaganda from the Cold War -- surely you could do better.  If one had a time machine, wouldn't it be better to go a bit further back and put a bullet in Mohammad when he was a dead beat hiding from his creditors.  Spare the civilized world the entire mess. 

And, if Obama hadn't followed the French in over throwing Khadafi, then the Egyptians wouldn't be saddled with a three front war -- ISIS in Libya, the Muslim Brotherhood in the interior, and Hamas on the Sinai.  

Meanwhile, weakness in US foreign affairs has embolden others,  The Russian infiltrate the Ukraine cutting off a bit at a time, fly bombers closer and closer to the US, UK and other allies, as the Baltic nations fear the same fate as the Ukraine.  Faced with a similar threat, Reagan placed Pershing missiles in Germany despite extreme Soviet objections and demonstrations of their useful idiots throughout Europe.  After which, the Soviet folded like the cheap  suits they wore.

Muslim terrorism is nothing new. In the 11th century, Rashid ad-Din Sinan aka The Old Man of the Mountain sent his assassins from Syria as far as England,  The assassins were hopped up on opium laced hashish and religious fervor.  (The term assassin is derived from the word hashish.)  The present groups believe their actions will found a caliphate that will force Allah to unleash the Mahdi, who will lead them to overthrow all opponents and found a pure Islamic faith,  There have been many false Mahdi claimants in the past.   One of the most notable took Khartoum forcing the Brits to send a relief expedition to Omdurman to defeat the Mahdi's forces.  After that, the adherents folded and disappeared into the desert. 

Traditionally, the best way to discourage these  types is to kill them and keep killing them until they go away -- deciding it really isn't time for the Mahdi to appear.

And in none of your rapid-fire string of four consecutive posts did you address the key point I made, namely that in invading Iraq, we poked the bear and the bear is now wreaiking havoc.This is  TODAY, not the 11th Century.  This is IRAQ, not Syria--insofar as the locus of the bear poking.

I am dealing with the world as it is, not a what if -- except for the time machine gambit.  I cited precedents for such radical Islamist behavior.  The problem is not limited to Iraq, but much of the ME and north Africa.

In my mind’s eye, I could see Chamberlain, during the Battle of Britain, addressing King Edward and Winston Churchill.  Chamberlain states, “Now, if we had followed my jobs for Hitler Jugend program, none of this would be happening.”  At which time, King Edward summons an equerry to fetch his Webley .455 revolver.  The PM requests that his majesty allow him to perform the duty.  “No,” states the king, “when one of my ministers goes barking mad during war, it’s the king’s duty to do the right thing and put him down.”

After his resignation as PM, Chamberlain remained a member of Commons and on Churchill's cabinet until his death.  Chamberlain was the poster boy for weakness.  However, I always liked the story of his meeting Hitler at the first time at the Reichstag.  He thought Adolf was a butler and handed him his coat.

Sometimes the President following the one who started things gets the blame for following the the legislation of the former. Saddam Hussein supported various terrorist groups including Ayman al-Zawahiri's Egyptian Islamic Jihad  which later joined Al Qaeda in 2001.

WASHINGTON — A Pentagon review of about 600,000 documents captured in the Iraq war attests to Saddam Hussein's willingness to use terrorism to target Americans and work closely with jihadist organizations throughout the Middle East.

The report, released this week by the Institute for Defense Analyses, says it found no "smoking gun" linking Iraq operationally to Al Qaeda. But it does say Saddam collaborated with known Al Qaeda affiliates and a wider constellation of Islamist terror groups.

The report, titled "Saddam and Terrorism: Emerging Insights from Captured Iraqi Documents," finds that:

• The Iraqi Intelligence Service in a 1993 memo to Saddam agreed on a plan to train commandos from Egyptian Islamic Jihad, the group that assassinated Anwar Sadat and was founded by Al Qaeda's second-in-command, Ayman al-Zawahiri.

• In the same year, Saddam ordered his intelligence service to "form a group to start hunting Americans present on Arab soil; especially Somalia." At the time, Al Qaeda was working with warlords against American forces there.

• Saddam's intelligence services maintained extensive support networks for a wide range of Palestinian Arab terrorist organizations, including but not limited to Hamas. Among the other Palestinian groups Saddam supported at the time was Force 17, the private army loyal to Yasser Arafat.

• Beginning in 1999, Iraq's intelligence service began providing "financial and moral support" for a small radical Islamist Kurdish sect the report does not name. A Kurdish Islamist group called Ansar al Islam in 2002 would try to assassinate the regional prime minister in the eastern Kurdish region, Barham Salih.

• In 2001, Saddam's intelligence service drafted a manual titled "Lessons in Secret Organization and Jihad Work—How to Organize and Overthrow the Saudi Royal Family." In the same year, his intelligence service submitted names of 10 volunteer "martyrs" for operations inside the Kingdom.
