Funny some people actually thought they could do Obama care and have to pay for it.

 

Most of the people who voted for obuma ain't interested in paying their own way. My premium increase to this point has been small. But the need for more money will eventually reach deeper into the pockets of working people.

At least the Vermont single-payer experiment isn't happening. Even New England elitists aren't into paying higher taxes. It probably would be different if someone else paid the bill.

 

Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin is canceling his dream plan to create a single-payer health system in the state, he announced Wednesday.

 

“I am not going to undermine the hope of achieving critically important health care reforms for this state by pushing prematurely for single payer when it is not the right time for Vermont,” Shumlin said in a statement Wednesday. “In my judgment, now is not the right time to ask our legislature to take the step of passing a financing plan for Green Mountain Care.”

 

The problem is, of course, how to pay for it. Even while plans were moving forward for a 2017 launch of the single-payer system, to be called Green Mountain Care, Shumlin had held off on releasing a plan for how to pay for the system, waiting until his announcement Wednesday.

 

Tax hikes required to pay for the system would include a 11.5 percent payroll tax as well as an additional income tax ranging all the way up to 9.5 percent. Shumlin admitted that in the current climate, such a precipitous hike would be disastrous for Vermont’s economy.

the man who claims the 'republicans got a mandate from the people'.. with it being the lowest voter turn out in US history, believes me to be clueless... i think that's one of the funniest posts on these forums.

let me correct myself... lowest voter turnout since the 1930's.

All the low info voters stayed home.  Jokingly, I told all the Dems I knew to be sure and vote that Friday -- who knew,,,?

Low info voters are now disenchanted with the people they elected as things have gotten worse.  Unfortunately, most of these people still can't bring themselves to vote Republican because they've either been brainwashed or are too stupid to make good decisions.  Not voting was their way of voting Republican but at the same time be able to say they didn't vote Republican.

i've been saying we should elect all republicans... at the rate the republicans are going, they'll destroy their own party before 2016.

Maybe we will wind up with a party that cares about what is best for the United States, instead of one race or class.
