The ACLU is right, "a solution in search of a problem"

Anybody (except apparently the idiots running Oklahoma) that at one time, a little over 100 years ago , Ok became a state in the United States of America, and as such was required to support the rule of law of our Constitution. Any laws that run contrary to the Constitution are already outlawed, including religious laws (much to the  disappointment of some of the fundamentalist in the Christian religion who want to put THEIR laws above the Constitution)

However, these Republican led state houses have for some time, been wasting their time on irrelevant crap anyway, so this is good in that they have not wasted their time trying to disenfranchise anybody's voting rights so far.

Baloney!  In no way would that "trump our laws". Read seeweed's comments above, which will educate you on this matter if you will pay attention and not summarily dismiss what he has posted, which is correct and to the point.

HELLooooo!!!!!! AMERICA....NOT some Middle Eastern, 3rd world hell hole. OUR laws are DIRECTLY based on CHRISTIAN principles, regardless of what liberals would prefer everyone else believe.

There is some concern that divorce law might be compromised by contracts made outside the law.  In NY state, some orthodox Jew divorces went thru the courts and caused similar troubles, before their state supreme court straightened the parties out.  Women, especially if not familiar with divorce law, were nearly shutout from all assets.

NO, wrong. The Founders based our laws on the principals of Freemasonary, and Enlightenment (both of which morst were). I suspect the Founders had had it with all this mix of trying to intermingle religious doctrine with secular law. They wanted a secular country, founded on secular law, as most of us "enlightened" people have posted many times before. They wanted no part of a religious based set of laws, because that would have meant a "judge" or interperter (read that as chief preacher - what Huckabee wants to be), and you gotta remember that the King of England was and is supposed to be placed on the throne by God his own self, and they were keenly aware of the religious wars less than a hundred years before which pitted the Calvinist against the Catholics  that managed to kill tens of thousands of people .

Enough of this religious fundamentalist carp already !

We have a secular based government and we should do everything in our power to insure it remains just that. We have the freedom to choose which , if any, religion we will follow, NOT be forced to follow yours whatever it may be.

Of course Shariah Law can't trump our laws. Reason? We have the Constitution and it is what protects us from ANY religion trumping the laws of the land.

Yeah! What Jank said!

@Dog: I dunno man......but I like it!

Don't you know?  Carp are very  conservative fish. They muddy up the water and make it hard for other critters to see things clearly. It's the bass, salmon and trout that are the liberals of the fish world.   They gobble up lots of trash fish and help keep a high level of quality in the aquatic ecosystem.

But left wing judges are already considering Shariah law and foreign law in their decisions. One of our nuttiest Supreme Court Justices, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, thinks it is OK to recognize foreign law which includes Shariah law.  So yes, we need a law to remind our left wing judges to remember our Constitution because they often ignore it.
