noticed lots of work going on at the old Fatboy's location, and a sign heralding a new restaurant opening there soon.  Does anyone have a clue as to what it will be?

Hillary in 2016?  Why not?  We've already had one "girly man" serving in office for the past 7 years, we might as well give her chance as well!

I'd love for us to get a PF Chang's and Red Robin.

Mexico has many great dishes like chicken poblano and arroz con pollo. Burritos are not Mexican, unless you are riding one.

I wonder if they caught a break on the building rent?  I heard that it was somewhere in the neighborhood of some $5,000 to $6,000 a month for "FatBoys" and that when Five Guy's came in there was no way that they could sell that many burgers at any price to make it work out for them.

If the rent is the same then that's a lot of tacos.

lΦΦk, I've eaten at many many Mexican restaurants out West in just about every state, even across the border. The only place you are going to eat true Mexican food is on a reservation under a shelter where they sell jewelry and cook those horrible cakes of bread with beans smeared on them.

Don't kid yourself; you've probably never or ever will eat Mexican food. That fare ended when Lefty left and Poncho slipped away and gave it to whitey.

P.S. Except for dire when he was in a Mexican jail.

I don't know what makes a successful restaurant, that's just not my expertise, but I would think you would need quite a bit more business than the new Mexican restaurant that opened there has.   I never see many people eating there and makes you wonder the reason as to if it's good or not?  Guess time will tell and hopefully someone that's tried it will come on here and let the rest of us know how it is.

Is it possible this area is saturated with enough Mexican restaurants?

I know there are lots of Mexican Restaurants in the area but many are almost copies of the others in that it seems they have the same menu and very similar taste to each other.  One possibility is that they all have the same supplier but then I don't know for sure.  I know when I was living in the Atlanta area there were also, seemingly, one on every corner but one of the chains, I have to say, was the best Mexican food I've had.

http://laparrilla.com  LaParrilla without a doubt was the best of the Mexican themed restaurants that the wife and I have tried so although there are quite a few there are some real good ones out there and around here, although some dispute that it's real Mexican, Rosie's Cantina usually always provides a great meal and service.  Then there also are arguments about Mexican restaurants verses TexMex Restaurants.

If the new place is good I hope that they start getting more business and can develop more business than they have now because when you have a new place that can hardly fill their parking spaces then people are more reluctant to try them and often when you open a restaurant in a building where a former restaurant failed it's just very difficult to make it work.  Thanks for the one that tried it and shared their opinion the wife and I will have to add it to our list and give it a try soon also.

Was not impressed although the service was excellent (granted there were only a few customers there). I had a burritto and the meat inside it was cut wrong and tasted like gristle. Co-worker who was dining with me had chicken and said that he also had bad pieces in his. The cheese dip was watery and thin but I did like the salsa. Do not like the decor - you can see across the entire restaurant and the bar smack dab in the middle of the back wall is just strange. I would give it another try but not for a while.
