Hey Everyone, I'm new to this forum. I rememeber hearing a lot of these stories from my dad when I was growing up. Does anyone remember Joe Dennis or Robert Dial from Johnny's place? They were both bouncers at Johnny's place. My mom, Judy Dennis was a bartender there as well. I remember my dad saying he was there the night Johnny was killed. My dad past in 2003 and I wished I would have asked him more questions about those days.

Hello everyone. I'm new here and found this place while trying to find out some history about my father-in-laws beer joint in Minor Hill area near state line. I know it was called Parker's Place at one time, but not sure if that was before or after my father in law (Thomas White) owned it. He only had it for a short time, then closed it until he was finally talked into selling it. He lived in the old house next door. My mother in law can't remember what they called the joint back when they had it in the late 50's. She thinks they bought it from the Parkers. Does anyone here remember what the place was called in the late 50's?

Was this guy one of the infamous Dawson gang I heard about growing up (although before my time)?

Oh yeah, Dewitt and the Dawson gang... but they mostly lived in Colbert County, either out in Spring Valley or close to Littleville (or somewhere out in there) and they were bad in their day, a long long time ago. If I remember correctly, Dewitt died in prison, or shortly after he was released. Even as old as I am, I don't remember it all. Gambling, bootlegging, and a little of this, and a lot of that and loads of money... Wish Dewitt had written a book.

Dewitt died in the feds he would be my great uncle homer gene would be my grandpaw and troy dawson is my dad they lived in white oak and in lagrange if it was a crime they was down with it no matter what the cost was they was ****in crazy i guess thats where i get my dumb ass side lmao my dad in prison his release date is 2029 an homer is livin in the shoals

All these years and I am just finding out about these folks! Sum of these writings are facts, some fiction. I do have a question: is it speculation or free speech when you say you knew Bill. N sometimes hustle wrong things up? I would like an explanation for the statement before I comment further.. I worked for Bill and never saw him hustling up???

He was shot. According to some, it was a contract hit connected to some business dealings that went south.
