If a Mexican goes to the local dealership and buys a new "Chebby" does his on board On Star unit speak to him in "Mexican" or "English"??

Based on their demands for documents, product information, container markings and even teachers and public officials provide a Spanish/Mexican Language or bilingual version, I can envision an ugly law suit if GM (Government Motors) hasn't made this provision.

American by birth, Southern by the grace of God.

So are you implying that we give the U.S. to Mexico since their language was spoken here way before the English language? If so, you know you can apply for citizenship in Mexico. I am sure they would be glad to have you living there.
The reason I wrote the above statement is because renecillo7 totally missed the point of the original poster. Instead you call him/her ignorant of other languages. That may be true however, you decided to attack him on his/her Mexican language statement rather than contributing something to this thread.

Just like I did.....

Oh, but they HAVE...

I think some of these people need to get out of Alabama more often. There are 49 other states out there and in a great many of them, even the women who work in the local DMV report to work everyday in a hijab and nobody bats an eye. I hate to tell you all, but there are people of all nationalities living in this country and there's nothing we can do about it. I have nothing against immigrants, unless they're illegal immigrants. I actually enjoy the diversity.

And some took it hook, line and sinker...talk about a knee jerk reaction. I have friends who are Mexican, have been here LEGALLY for over 20 years and speak ENGLISH extremely well. I don't think "On Star" can access your transceiver without your unit initiating the contact (this has crossed my mind).
I have OnStar on my car and also on my mom's car and will never own another car without it. If OnStar does initiate the call to your car you know it because it beeps when the call comes on from them. It never comes on without you knowing it. When my mom had a flat tire and called them they sent someone to change it for her. They asked if she was where she could pull off the road but she wasn't there were ditches on both side so they put her on hold to contact police to come direct traffic around her. They let her know that in that instance even though she couldn't no longer hear them they could hear her in case there was an accident while they were trying to get help to her. All she had to do was sit and wait for help to come to her, wait for them to change the tire and then drive away. It was wonderful for my elderly mother not to have to worry about what to do.

Wonderful story, I'm glad On Star was there for your mom.
Thanks, I was too when she called me afterwards at work to let me know what had happened. She has also used it SEVERAL times when she has locked her keys in her car. The first time I drove home from work to bring her mine...both of us forgetting about OnStar (LOL). The next time I was about to leave and called her back and reminded her to call that was what we were paying them for so it is very handy! With this last car we added the directions plan and used it to get to the Nashville airport and it was great.

BlOndStar: "BlOndStar...How may I assist you?"
Blond: "HELP! I'm locked in my car and they keys are on the OUTSIDE!!"

I heard a story a couple of years ago of a young lady who was crying outside of her car in the parking lot of some store. The battery had died in her keyless entry and she couldn't unlock the door. A man stopped to find out what the problem was and asked for her keys. He promptly stuck the key in the lock and unlocked the door. The girl was totally clueless of that feature. Yes, she was blonde.
Apologies to the young lady, if she happens to read this...

Many years ago, in Muscle Shoals Wal-Mart parking lot (old one, not Super Center), I was walking back to my car when I came across a tearful, upset young lady...crying because when she got back to her car she spotted the keys in the ignition and she had locked her door. No one had cell phones back then but I thought I might "snake" a coat hanger in to unlock the door. I headed to my car to get a hanger out but stopped briefly at her passenger door, pulled the handle, opened the door and handed her the keys. To say she was appreciative would be an understatement.
