Ok I just ate there today and the place is awesome! I had the Buffalo Chicken sandwich and it came with those deep fried potato chips like Logan's and TX RH and was only like $6.99? You could add fries for like .99 cents but I wanted to try the chips.

Only thing that would have been better was if the bun was different instead of like a hamburger bun. Maybe like a toasted ciabatta bun? But hey other then that, that food was great, service was great, and atmosphere was nice and welcoming. I give 5 stars on a 1-5 scale and I am one to be pretty judgmental on these type on things!

Also, their Grand Opening is this Friday night. They are going to have Zac Hacker and David Saint Romaine playing live music around 6, with Ben Phillips later that night. Should be pretty fun so everyone check it out if your in town!

It is both. They have a very long bar downstairs and a smaller one upstairs. They have appetizers (wings, skins, etc) burgers & sandwiches, salads (including a buffalo shrimp salad), and a couple of dinner selections (some type of steak, mahi mahi, a chicken dish I believe).

In the drink area they have Martinis, classic ****tails, nonclassic ****tails, beer, etc.

Grizzly, you really missed out on the fries. They were perfection! I also had the tomato basil chicken sandwich (on ciabatta roll)...The prices were the same as at lunch even though there was live entertainment. I'm also VERY happy to say, there was a full house!

I actually printed the menus for On The Rocks. Went to the friends and family thing on saturday, and had the cheese sticks and chicken tenders...and a whole lotta whiskey.
Last night, a group of us went after work to support Nick on the opening night, and all of our food was excellent. I got some crab and shrimp dip, followed by the tomato basil chicken sandwich, and fries. Man o man, I love those fries. The tab wasn't that bad. I think it ended up being about 46.00 after mine and my girlfriend's meal, and our drinks. Happy to say, I have a new place to hang out.

yes they WILL hurt Brinleys. Anyone that wants good service will know where to go. They deserve success.

Nail right on the head. That's Brinley's biggest problem is service. I've gone w/ out having a new drink for like 15 - 20 minutes there before. And that's while sitting at the bar.
On The Rocks should succeed where many others have failed. Keeping the same hours, great service, great food and drinks, and good people.

hahah yea they look like the one's that sidelines carry.. (the beer battered ones) so I know that those are good.. I will be getting them my next time in which will be soon..lol
to go along with what Jamofpearls said (Hi Smiler) Yes... they will give BrinBros a run for their money.

I think that B.Bros needs to have a wait staff... all too often I've been there and sat at a table only to have to get up and order my drinks at the bar - that's fine, but in the past they had a wait staff... the most important thing in business is being consistent - so far, On the Rocks hits the marks every time.

And for being a newly opened business - you best believe most of the employees have years of experience and they are very gracious to help you out in any way there!

I can't say enough good things so I'll stop rambling.
We went last night. Gary Nichols was playing from 8 - until...

Good food, good drinks and good company. We sat upstairs.

Our server was great! She kept the drinks coming and our food was still hot when it got to the table.

We had the mushrooms, tater skins, shrimp & crab dip and the guys had the chopped steak.
A chain might be exciting but I love the charm that WE have the On the Rocks of Florence - I always worry about chains - service suffers sometimes.

I think half the charm of on the rocks IS the staff - they are all great, friendly and always ready to make sure everything is A-OK with your meal/time there.

I've been so many times since it's opened and tried to continue to try new things on the menu each time and I've had no disappointment yet!

Agreed on the chains. They eventually get to be too much for the owners to handle.

I do not know any of them but had encountered the owners of OTR a couple of times while they were getting the place ready. They all love what they are doing and are the MOST gracious people ever. That is why the staff is so great. They must be a great bunch of guys to work for and work with so the folks there love their jobs and it SHOWS!

Most definitely! Smiler
We went to On The Rocks last night and met some friends. As usual, we saw others we knew. Great service. Good food although we only got an appetizer. Fabulous atmosphere. Mike and Randy were there and the place was running smoothly. (Those two are pretty easy on the eyes, ladies) They didn't have a band when we were there but one was starting at 10. The music they had playing was great though. A mix of dance and old funk.
