Something very similar happened to my sister while staying with my mother and going through a divorce. Her soon-to-be ex came to my mom's house shot at my sister 2 times before she made it into the house. We (I was there with my 2 children ages 3yrs and 8 months and her 2 yr old child) had to throw all our weight on the front door to get it locked because he was trying to kick it in. We finally got it locked and we ran to the bedroom and locked that door. He busted through the front door and then proceeded down the hall to the bedroom door. He was yelling through the door that he was going to kill all of us (children included) except for my sister so that she would have to live with loosing us. A neighbor heard the shots and came over and he ran off. The police came. Took our statement. They never arrested him and nothing ever happened to him. We would call and complain and beg for help with this man that stalked all of us for over a year and still nothing. I guess if he had actually shot my sister that day instead of missing maybe then something would have been done. Finally some male family members dealt with him. He is still around but doesn't mess with us anymore. The police would not call it attempted murder or burglary in our case, they classified it as "domestic disturbance" The only thing different about this case and ours was that he missed when he shot at my sister.

Sorry about this rant guys but it is a touchy subject with me. I hate abusive men and don't believe the laws are tough enough on them. Usually by the time they are actually imprisoned the ex wife is either dead or seriously injured.

I do hope everything goes well for this woman and she is ok. I will be thinking about her.

TP, is she going to make a full recovery? Bless her heart. She's had to deal with alot over the years!
It seems so, but I'll know more later when my mom and dad leave the hospital. (She is my dad's sister.)
