Politicians are seeking, or some are, a 206% increase in wage for Americans working minimum wage jobs claiming that people cannot live on a minimum wage. While that may be partially true what politicians and Democrats who are pushing this are doing is condemning the elderly and those on fixed incomes such as disability or Social Security to extreme poverty and a further inability to live a decent life, if they can live one as it is now.
What a $15.00 minimum wage will do other than cause many businesses to go out of business is to reduce the number of workers a business hires and worse cause most all products to rise in price account of the minimum wage increase. Those on fixed incomes however will not be receiving a 206% increase in their benefits but most likely will receive only a 1% to 3% usual increase in their annual amount drawn. As prices of products rise according to the minimum wage increase (206%) and those on fixed incomes not receiving any increase according to the minimum wage increase, those people will be hit extremely hard and will not be able to afford living.
This is what happens when "feel good" liberals make moves like increasing the minimum wage as they seek to get votes from minimum wage people, they turn around and condemn a huge number of Americans that have no other way to live other than the fixed incomes that they have. Democrats are not thinking out their policies and it happens for just about everything they do. It happened with the unAffordable Healthcare Act and it will happen in their moves to pay reparations and pay off student debt and provide free college education. They promise the world just in order to get a vote and get in power then they will blame the Republicans for all their woes that they bring on everyone with their horrible policies and legislation.
