Internal administration documents reveal that up to 51% of employers may have to relinquish their current health care coverage because of ObamaCare.

Small firms will be even likelier to lose existing plans.

The "midrange estimate is that 66% of small employer plans and 45% of large employer plans will relinquish their grandfathered status by the end of 2013," according to the document.

In the worst-case scenario, 69% of employers — 80% of smaller firms — would lose that status, exposing them to far more provisions under the new health law.

The 83-page document, a joint project of the departments of Health and Human Services, Labor and the IRS, examines the effects that ObamaCare's regulations would have on existing, or "grandfathered," employer-based health care plans.

Not too long ago there was a report on documents leaked by at least one large phone company that stated just this. They compared the cost of the 'fine' in Obamas plan to the actual cost of the health care coverage. For example, my employer pays more than 10K for my coverage each year. If Obamas fine is just 5K (I think it was 4500.00 but I dont remember for sure), then my company would save 5 grand an employee to move us to the govt plan.

Sounds like Socialized Heath Care by Proxy to me....

On the other hand, they could have dropped you already and faced no fine, or anything.
This thread sounds like fear mongering , not by proxy, to me...

I dont think many of the current companies that are considering transferring employees to the Obama plan would have ever considered dropping their employees. You see, there is this thing called competition. Competition for qualified employees. Many companies keep their employees partially through their health plan. How many people do you know hate their job and dont get paid enough, but stay because they have health insurance?

What surprises me is folks that think employers would just drop health insurance with no consequences. It hadnt happened yet, even with the skyrocketing health care costs, so why do we keep talking about it? Fear Mongering is why, and its that Fear Mongering that got this health care monster passed in the first place, not truth as to what was actually in the bill...

What "Obama Plan" do you think these companies would "transfer" their employees to ?, and since they will get big tax credits (ie:lower taxes) for keeping their employees on their current plans, why would they want to dump them ?
Just questions...

A White House official told IBD: "This is a draft document, and we will be releasing the final regulation when it is complete. The president made a promise to the American people that if they liked their health care plan, they can keep it. The regulation, when finalized, will uphold that promise."

However, the source conceded: "It is difficult to predict how plans and employers will behave in the coming years, but if plans make changes that negatively impact consumers, then they will lose their grandfather status."

How is this fear-mongering coming from the WH?

Question 1:

The 'Obama Plan' I am referring to is the govt plan offered to people who cannot get insurance through their employer, a HUGE part of his health care overhaul. If an employer does not offer health insurance, their employees become elidgeable for the gov't plan, 'transferring' them from the old employer plan to the gov't plan.

Question 2:

If the tax credits dont offset the savings I discussed above (over $5,000.00 a year JUST FOR ONE EMPLOYEE at my job), then it would be more cost effective to quit offering insurance. Have you seen the numbers for the 'tax credit' you are referring to, because I havent.....

Ohh, I forgot about your other M.O. You know, the one where you hop topics just to start trouble and talk trash. No worries though, were used to it.......

Got an opinion on the subject, or do you just like trashing police and US Troops? You seem like you might be an Obamaite yourself.
